Anyone watching the Everton v Leicester cup tie tomorrow might well see a lot of green and white in the stands. Loads of us (well into three figures at least) are going to that match tomorrow and then Liverpool v Plymouth on Sunday. I've never spent a whole weekend in Liverpool before - I might have to try out the ferry and the spot where Paul McCartney had his first shag.

Haha yeah I think he's probably even worse than Savage or Owen. I read the article but couldn't get through more than 30 seconds of the video.

Yeah I think you're right. Owen is obviously terrible, but I get the feeling he's just a bit of a bumbler who isn't very bright. Innocent crapness almost (unless I am missing something). There's a perniciousness to Merson which underlines his crapness. It's not just that his views are ****, but I very much get the impression they are driven by...something distasteful.

Haha. I'm not familiar with this. It's just the way he talks that suggests to me that he's a bit dim. It's not even what he says (though obviously a lot of what he says is mind-bendingly bad), but the way he says things just makes him come across as someone who is a very slow and basic thinker.

In this sense he's a bit of a contrast to others, who can obviously process information fairly quickly, but their analysis of it is poor.

Anyway, on the subject of poor commentators/pundits. Got to have Steve McManaman just behind Murphy and Shearer (and Merse) on the list of horribleness now. Wasn't especially familiar with him until recently, but I've now discovered that he makes Wayne Mardle look like Richie Benaud.

BT have a really poor team tbh (bar the European Football Show guys). Mediocre analysis and almost no iconic commentary moments.

Edit: Actually I don't hate every pundit they get on. But all the commentary teams are poor IMO.
