BARNES OUT
I can't ****ing stand watching Warner bat.
I don't particularly like the guy but I respect his batting ability. The guy is damn good.I can't ****ing stand watching Warner bat.
Never said anything to the contrary.I don't particularly like the guy but I respect his batting ability. The guy is damn good.
I didn't say you did ...Never said anything to the contrary.
I played a season with his brother in law about ten years back. I tried to get him to play a game for us but he had his priorities wrong as I think he may have been coaching Pakistan at the time.Waqar lives in Sydney. They should have him every year. Good guy and a nice contrast to the oi oi oi.
I think a lot of Bill's schtick back then was to offset Tony Greig. They were gold together. If I was to rank the 9 commentary team it would go something like this:
1) Mark Taylor - probably the least biased of the lot
2) Bill Lawrie - was rabidly biased back in the day but has mellowed some what in his old age
3) Michael Clarke - fresh insight but probably will be corrupted in time
4) Michael Slater - Rising star in the traditional 9 commentating style
5) Shane Warne - has his comic moments
4) Mark Nicholas - there for the money me thinks
5) Ian Healy - biased as they come
Waqar is head and shoulders above the regulars but since he is a guest commentator I did not include him in the list.
Kinda reminds me of the 12th man skits ...I think a lot of Bill's schtick back then was to offset Tony Greig. They were gold together.

Warner's gone back into his shell a bit. A ton before lunch < a big double ton at stumps. Having said that he's just hit a 4 to go to 86!Renshaw appears to be Warner's biggest threat to making this ton pre-lunch.
Kid's doin fine. With Usman, Smitteh and even an in form Handscomb to come his job is just to bat and bat and bat.Renshaw appears to be Warner's biggest threat to making this ton pre-lunch.
Kerry O'Keefe = best god damn commentator in history.Kerry O'Keefe just expressing his pity for Renshaw, who he's described as probably feeling like the support act at a Foo fighters concert.
On a pitch like this he is going too slowly for mine. Obviously if he ends today with a couple of hundred runs to his name he'll be vindicated, but he needs to be playing more positively.Kid's doin fine. With Usman, Smitteh and even an in form Handscomb to come his job is just to bat and bat and bat.
