Ouch Pakistan. How's the pitch playing by the way fellas? Much in the way of swing and seam? I missed most of the session, just caught the great Bill Lawry calling the hundred home!

I'm not suggesting he attempt to slog Wahab over mid-on, he just needs to get better at rotating the strike. It happened in the Boxing Day test as well, he seems pretty susceptible to getting bogged down.
Yeah, he needs to learn to rotate the strike. Other than that, what he's doing is fine. If he's not out at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. There's no point in exposing a new batsman just to look good for the fans in the crowd who have the attention spans of a walnut.

Agreed.

All I was trying to say is that he needs to be more proficient in working a single.

Indeed, great compliment for Warner too.

Great start Australia, perfect platform for Smithy to get his mandatory home ton later today/tomorrow.

Jeez, what the hell do Pakistan discuss at lunch?

Nothing off the pitch, not too much bounce, but not uneven. Not quick, but doesn't seem two paced or anything troubling. Could have done with a bit more moisture for the first session tbf. Certainly looks the sort of pitch that if you get in and get the pace of you should fill yer boots.

Only bright side for Pakistan is that Amir looked like he was just starting to get a little reverse at the end of the session.

It's a good pitch for batting but Pakistan have bowled some garbage.

Could all change very quickly. Remember 1st test of the summer at Perth, and 1st test in Sri Lanka. Aus were making an embarrassment out of the opposition after day 1.

Feels like Warner is taking a gigantic dump on what traditional test cricket is and I don't mind it.

Shajeel looks like me chasing that ball.

That is not a good thing for a test cricketer.

Amazing, 130 odd runs in the first session and Warne's still finds recourse to complain about Renshaw facing dot balls
