Gabrandt is a million times better than Sage. At the Woodley level.
@***** Gabrandt and TJ are terrible at **** talk... Would be cringe worthy.

Garbrandt's best win is against Almeida who had an incredible undefeated record prior to facing him, but further inspection shows he hadn't actually fought anyone tough - the Mizugaki fight was also a guy that he was expected to beat. It's too early on to really judge him but I think he's going to be made to look amateur against Cruz. No one was even speaking his name until Urijah did.

But that is the case with most UFC fighters. The build up is never a slow burn because people don't know how valuable wins against 10-15 ranked contenders are. He is no TJ and I expect and hope he loses but that is just a high bar. He is a top 5 fighter in the division and it will never be easy to fight him.

Where are KP and Duffer. They're good value here.

Tbh I keep most of my MMA fanboying to R/MMA. Between that, Heavy Hands and Chael Sonnen's and Joe Rogan's podcasts I don't feel the need to talk about it on CW

Cricket lacks that quality of coverage; CW is the place to be for that.

/r/MMA can be circlejerky because of the nature of reddit. Way too much time spent on figuring out who should be elevated in status and who should be the target of the hate brigade.. Can't have a Rhonda discussion without people posting that shadowboxing gif...

I only really got into MMA around the Aldo fight, so didn't have a pick or expectation for the Mendes one.

But I did expect him to win all his fights since then tbh. Nate beating him actually shocked me a bit.

I think the mind is the biggest part of fighting. And McG's mentality is on point; he breaks his opponents before they get into the ring. But then Nate is a difference character. Since the loss his prep has been on point too. He raised his game to a new level. Now I find it hard to see anyone beating him. I think he KOs Khabib. I don't know about Ferguson or Holloway 2.0, both seem tougher mentally but also aren't that far ahead of McG skillwise. Plus the circus he brings tends to break people.

Aldo, having been in the circus already, and being such a fantastic well-rounder striker, might give him a good fight in a rematch...but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if McG somehow found a way to take him down and submit him, as bizarre as that sounds.

TJ is one who came in and beat some top flight fighters early on in the piece, there are still quite a few who come in and dominate from their first bouts, Joanna Champion is another that comes to mind, Lorenz Larkin is another (that guy is a beast).

Saying Gabrandt is a million times better than Sage is only plausible due to Mickey Gall coming in and wrecking his ****, but let's see how we're talking about Garbrandt after tomorrow.

Yeah big time on the McGregor hype train. I didn't expect him to win against Mendes, Aldo or Nate pt. 2
Any guy who comes out of Europe with a predominately winning record should be taken far more seriously in my view, you don't get the easy fights in the European leagues.

The problem with UFC though is that it's less about a sport and more about a pay per view experience, it's why guys like Ben Askren aren't given a shot because they'd bore up the casual fan while dominating everyone they fight.

If McGregor is dumb enough to get in the cage with Khabib, he gets absolutely murdered.

It doesn't even take a genius to understand that.

Picking Rousey over Nunes. Classic Honda judo throw to armbar win.

Cruz is going to make Garbrandt look average, going to pick him apart for 5 rounds

Dillashaw should beat Linekar but Linekar's power is a threat to everyone in the division

DHK vs Saffiedine could be FOTN - expecting it to be a real scrap with DHK coming out on top.

Looks like a solid card. Looking forward to seeing what Ronda brings - just wish she'd ditched Edmund and joined a proper camp for this fight, that is the only thing making me doubt her. He's the worst coach in MMA.
