Well, they're an improved side and played well in the WC. But it's the first time in years they've got to play a proper series away from the subcontinent, so it's going to be tough.

The problem with world cricket, teams do not get enough match practice in conditions other than their home ones.

Bangladesh and India will always be hometown heroes who struggle away from the subcontinent
England will always resort to picking old never-was spinners like Gareth Batty who can't do anything for them because they have no reason to develop real spin depth at home.

It's only really South Africa, Pakistan and Australia that you could lay claim to having all weather attacks at the moment.
Said this on Christmas Eve, stick with it now.

This guy Ferguson is absolute garbage. He's only quick in the first few overs. He is unable to get any movement in the air or off the pitch. He bowls a ton of wides. His pace drops off substantially in the latter overs i.e. he's got poor fitness. Yes, he's picked up a couple of wickets but only because Bangladesh is under serious scoreboard pressure.

Well when Henry's back then we'll have another option at the top of the order. Our death bowling might be in strife though.
Henry is fit, he's being rested/dropped this match.

If they're wanting an aggressive bowler who rushes the batsmen for pace, can bowl the shorter delivery and doesn't tire, it baffles me that Wagner hasn't been given a shot yet. They haven't learned their lesson with Boult yet, where he turned out to be quite decent despite everyone writing him off as a Test bowler only.

I don't recall us having a worser bowling attack than this since the days of S'ua and DeGroen.
Steady on. Boult and Southee are bowling OK. Problem is we don't have a decent 3rd, 4th and 5th options. Santner is not a front line spinner. Can someone tell me what happened to Nathan McCullum?

This game is by no means over. Bangles are going at 7s from the last 5 - 6 overs without loss. Two set batsmen who are scoring freely. Anything can happen here.

Agree. We could be trying out better prospects than this guy surely?

Retired;

Southee and Boult are bowling absolute rubbish, lots of wides, lots of **** short balls.

The only person who has bowled a consistent line and length, ironically, is Neesham.

Decent fight from Bangladesh. You're never really out of the game on these NZ grounds while chasing big scores. I remember Ashwin and Jadeja helping India tie a match once in 2014 from an impossible situation.

They were out of the game the moment Neesham took 3 wickets.

This is just inferior bowling being hit around, but there is no threat to the result of the game.

First ball Southee bothers to pitch up and they take a wicket.

Why this short pitched death over bowling crept into our game and is continued to be backed is beyond me... but really poor bowling performance by NZ to back up great batting by Latham and Munro.

Bangladesh are woeful.

Hagley oval is actually a very big ground

And its hard to believe it was the same Southee who was once a death bowling expert with all those yorkers n stuff.

Good win without the two best players performing, so can't complain.

Probably let Bangladesh get to 260 more than anything, you could tell the intensity dropped off after Neesham's double wicket over.

The match was over then and there and they kicked into cruise control.
