Cricketer Of The Year
In all of this hopefully Mitch Marsh will be reading a message that might go something like this: Develop an ability to hit straight balls at least. Then deal with the brain explosions.
ThisCartwright is one of my bois. Gun.
Be prepared to be disappointed with his bowling if he plays though, I reckon. He's a batsman who bowls and I think he'll develop more and more in that direction as time goes on.
From what I've been told, he has real potential with the bat but those hoping for 10 economical overs with the odd wicket might be disappointedIs Cartwright another Henriques type selection or is he actually a good potential test class batsman?
This is a really important part of your post and just not that likely to actually happen. Do you think we can get 2 spinners doing much better than average 45 with the ball and Cartwright 28 with the bat / 60 with the ball in India.Think Australia are shaping up well for the India tour tbh. With Smith, Handscomb, S Marsh and with Warner being unpredictable, they have a decent enough nucleus to get a lot of runs, esp. if the tracks remain flat like they did against England. And with Starc being Starc and Haze supporting him with a couple of spinners doing their bit and with Cartwright being as good as he seems to be from posters here, they should give very tough fight to India in India. Will be a tough series and a good test for India which seemed so unlikely when they were getting bundled out by Philander and Co.
Smith and Warner have never really done anything in India though, which is completely different to the rest of the worldSee.. with all due respect to England, its a different game when Smith and Warner are going after you than it is when Root and Cook are. There is just a mental block that seems to hit our bowlers when these guys get after us. If that kind of day happens, I see Australia being extremely competitive this series. The bolded stuff will happen if your aggressive batsmen are able to break us mentally in the field.
Who's the former first class cricketer you're mates with who has this seeming wisdom? This
A mate of mine who is a former fc cricketer and incredibly biased towards all things WA rates his bowling lower than Mennie's batting.
He does however rate his batting potential very highly
Or is it seaming wisdom?Who's the former first class cricketer you're mates with who has this seeming wisdom?
This is just bigging us up so you it's more satisfying when we inevitably get wiped off the park, isn't itSee.. with all due respect to England, its a different game when Smith and Warner are going after you than it is when Root and Cook are. tbf that series was in the context of him coming in mid-series having literally not been part of the original squad and immediately being our best batsman by a distance bc clarke went down. he did pretty well, and was actually the reason for the famous fox sports poll from which TPC was born.Smith and Warner have never really done anything in India though, which is completely different to the rest of the world
barring Smith's 2013 "ok" series, before he really became good
Wait really? I swore he was brought along after someone got injured. Or maybe I'm mixing that up with how he got selected for the 3rd Test after half the fit batsmen got put on the naughty step.smith was part of the original squad, his selection bought much joy, along with a lot of idiots thinking he was picked for his bowling
Yeah for some reason I thought he was shoved in before the 3rd Test as well. I guess it was just assumed by all that he was so unlikely to play that he may as well not have been there before that.Nah he was in the initial squad. I always thought he got added after Watson abandoned ship to attend his wife delivering more hellspawn tbh.

Ah now it makes sense. I knew there was a late selection somewhere in there.Wasn't the late Smith selection for the Ashes? Not picked, dominated the A series ahead of it, never looked back?
