Colin de Wtf. So we're playing the fifth best allrounder in NZ today, maybe sixth. I wish him well though I think I would even prefer the other Colin who has a far better domestic record.

Our lengths have been wrong and we're starting to look for the miracle ball rather than plug away on line and length and let the conditions do the job.

Why? He's shown nothing at test level that indicates he should be a selection ahead of the three we've picked.
His work in India was better than anything Southee's done for a while.

But I'm arguing he should've been picked ahead of Astle, not any of the seamers. a) the conditions b) the opposition c) the fact the match is shortened d) most important, he's just a better bowler and more likely to have an impact than Astle.

This would seam the perfect opportunity for 4 seamers, particularly with neither Neesham nor Anderson being in the side.

Neesham, Anderson, Santner <- definitely
Munro, Ellis, Woodcock <- possibly

That's a fair call, although what we generally do is knee jerk, so if he happens to bowl well here we'll take it to mean he's dominant and it wasn't the conditions.

Williamson needs to bench Southee and give Wagner a crack earlier than expected. These guys will get more and more comfortable out there the way this is going, especially with how stupidly short these two are bowling.

These two are both mud to be honest.

Boult bowls two beauties an over, and four that completely undoes the work of those two beauties.
