***Official*** England in India 2016/17

I have a funny feeling England will win this series. Surprised Bangladesh will be only touring India for a 1-off test; whereas, England will play 5 test matches despite losing more than a 100 runs to Bangladesh in the 2nd test match.

England made a mistake by not looking at hameed probably except the joke practice match. Ballance got to give something back to England after all the faith shown on him by England. Drop Woakes because dont think he's going to be that effective here but his batting may become crucial like 40-50 runs at the back end if he makes it but I doubt he's going to be able to do it here. Can't also really throw Hameed like this in sea so from the squad, I'd choose,

1. Cook
2. Duckett
3. Root
4. Ballance
5. Bairstow
6. Stokes
7. Moeen Ali
8. Rashid
9. Broad
10. Jake Ball
11. Batty

Bairstow at 7 is a bit low for this line up. Also Stacking up middle order with three left handers is playing into hands of Ashwin.

Drop Woakes for someone who's an inferior batsman and bowler? Suddenly the strength that was the lower order becomes weak as **** with Broad at 9.

Have you ever thought about becoming an England selector. With an XI like that you'd go down a storm.

Our best bowler this year dropped and Ballance in the side. Ball above of batty as well in the line up cmon man.

Yeah Woakes definitely stays, if as much for his batting as his bowling. Harsh on Ball who deserves to get a chance but his time will come. Cook, Hameed, Duckett, Root would be my top 4. I'm not sure I'd want Bairstow at 5, as his record there is far worse than at 6/7, though I guess that's largely due to him batting there when he was a genuinely worse player. Not exactly sure what the cause & effect is here, did he only start doing well because he moved from 5 and would he do ok there now because he's that much more confident and experienced? I'd be tempted to try Stokes at 5, with Bairstow at 6 and Moeen at 7.

It also seems a little unfair to drop Ansari after just 1 test, even if he didn't do very well. He'd be next in line if one of the other spinners is struggling, though if this potential change is happening for, say, the third test, might they just slot Anderson in anyway? Guess it depends on how everyone else is doing.

Anyway, I'm rambling so I'll stop now
