They spent the whole SL tour playing for imaginary spin against Herath so dont see why they'd change in India
I put it down to the size of bats today, being less nimble and less able to make last minute changes and clamp down - players just don't know how to be nimble against spin anymore.

That and the fact that players in Australia are being built on pitches that do nothing except bounce, with conditions that for some reason aren't conducive to swing.

It's lead to a generation of decent bowlers (when they're not injured) but a generation of stunted batsmen who can't do anything away from home.

Don't think big bats are really the issue here. The biggest bats of today aren't really any heavier at all, so it wouldn't affect their ability to make those last second adjustments.

They're not heavier, but they are balanced differently and they're a lot bigger to attempt to get around the pad and down onto the ball.

good to see a foreign quick with a big reputation finally do something when they come to australia
Agree, but he's a great bowler for your conditions - uses swing when it's available but doesn't rely on it, has good pace and bounce, is great at bowling the yorker and works players out with a plan. Steyn should have done more in Aussie but he's generally had injury issues there hasn't he?

I'm surprised Broad hasn't done more in the Aussie conditions, he's another guy that seems like he should just take truck fulls anytime he's there.
