They can do it regardless of quotas! Quotas are an avg across the season and formats. Whether they will, who knows. Why drop Duminy over Cook? Maybe let Duminy finish his innings first?

what happens if they do it though, find the new lay-out with 3-4 POC in the team happens to just be the winning formula so there is no point bring Duminy back ever again once he's gone.

would they then just tell a few whities they're retired from t20s, fill that team to the brim with POC and voila! hollow victory for equality

We have a lot of players of colour on merit in our LO stuff already without having to push quotas...

Added: The problem comes in when we get injuries to those players..

Nah **** right off Greg James just called them Swanny and Vaughany.

I hope Ponting decapitates him with his bat before this **** is all over the Ashes.

BT sport get ****ed.

Australia don't win from positions like this. They win getting huge first innings leads and smashing the opposition. They won't win from here and it will be pleasing as it may hasten the end of Marsh. I also don't think Nevill and Khawaja will last the summer.

im always excited for new debuting players so would love to see Marsh dropped just for the fun of it

I say just go 6 specialist batsmen and rely on 4 bowlers like we did at our peak 15 years ago

hope a Steyn situation doesn't happen

Duminy's166 is like that Ishant Sharma spell to Ponting at Perth. The only way to get people to stop talking about it is to bounce out the entire English top order.

If ishant could do it, I don't see any reason why Duminy won't.

Hey Howe_Zat,

Do you think this game will go into Day 5?
Not prepared to put clothing on the line.

I reckon there's going to be a big chase. We've seen a lot of gun bowling and poor batting in this match so far which makes it seem more low scoring than conditions would suggest. With Steyn injured in the fourth innings SA could struggle.

It is ridiculous that at the end of the season someone is going to have to calculate the numbers of POCs and whites that have played for SA to meet this arbitrary target.

The targets we should have should be related to how many nets have been built in disadvantaged areas, how many coaching sessions have been held in disadvantaged areas, how many deserving cricketers from poor backgrounds received bursaries to good cricket schools?

And while we're at it, let's get Radio 2000 to broadcast the cricket again. You can only follow this series if you have the most expensive DSTV package or can afford to buy mobile data.

Agree with all the above whole heartedly.... I just hate the mention of quotas every time a player is picked, I have heard it about Philander, Maharaj and Duminy in this thread. And Andile during the LO in SA before he proved himself.

I miss the Radio 2000 commentry

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
All this talk about how similar Smarsh and Duminy are in stance and posture and **** and they forgot the one glaring similarity in that they're both mediocre shunts

I've been guilty of it myself unfortunately, really didn't think Temba shouldn't have been in the Test side but he's happily proven me wrong.
