His last 6 Test innings are now 21,14, 15, 9, 83, and 14; so he's still getting starts, but seems to be throwing his wicket away far too much, and his Test average has now dipped to exactly 38. He's undoubtedly young enough-and too good not to come again, but there's not really a hiding place for him when he's in a form slump; it's not like there's 4 or 5 other reliable batsmen to bale him out.
Has anyone spotted any glaring weaknesses in technique that are being exploited? Has he been "found out"? Much of it seems to be psychological to me.
The debate from last year about what Test sides he would get in would look a bit different now. On current form he might challenge Guptill and the Zimbabweans for a place, maybe spark a debate amongst West Indian and Sri Lankan selectors, but that's about it. I really hope he can turn it around, because only 18 months ago he looked the most exciting young batsman in the world.
