Yeah Amir, learn from the guy who had the same numbers playing on these pitches that you got playing in England and New Zealand

Blogs: Ahmer Naqvi: What Mohammad Amir needs to learn from Junaid Khan | Cricket Blogs | ESPN Cricinfo
I really hate articles that are based around vague **** like

Most of his [Junaid's] time was spent bowling in unhelpful conditions, where he showed great intelligence in picking up his wickets.

to prosper in Pakistan's successful Test side, he needs to become the bowler that Junaid was. That would entail adjusting his lengths, his angles, and his approach. It would mean learning the tricks that Junaid, and Saeed Ajmal in particular, perfected - that of bowling dry and attacking after.
Stick your neck out and explain what you mean properly ffs, especially if you're going to write a technical piece.

This is exactly the kind of horse **** you peddle when yu have no idea what needs to be changed. Adjusting his line and length is like asking a batsman to find the gaps more.

Literally every bowler who has ever bowled adjusts their line and length. It isn't even a blanket positive ffs. Half trackers and full tosses is adjusting your line and length.

Aren't all sports analysis articles basically a variation of "be better"?

Ever since Amir has been back in the Test team a large contingent of fans and the media have been expecting him to just run through batting line ups.

I don't think he has faired too badly , and in the context of the Pakistani bowling attack he fits right in. Dangerous enough up front and with an older ball( Although definitely not at a Wahab level with that). The cutters he bowled in the Windies second dig were intelligent changes in pace.

Obviously not his fault but the hype around Amir from Pakistan fans seems to be huge. He hasn't come close to living up to that. Of all people, you'd think they'd be kinda blase about a promising quick, since they've had so many genuinely great ones.

Just read that article.. the guy is actually suggesting he should get a more "understated" haircut to be a better bowler.

it was always going to be an uphill task for Amir to restart and be as gun as he left. For 5 years if you are going to just play in your mommy's basement with just your half autistic younger brother its very unlikely you will start tearing through world's best batsmen. Its very unlikely Amir will ever reach his initial potential playing virtually no cricket between 18-22 which is actually the best time for a fast bowlers development was always bound to hurt him he has lost his outswinger and the runup does not have the explosion at the crease that pre ban Amir use to have which means his average speed his 5-7 km's slower however he still has his role and I still believe comfortably deserves to be part of the first choice attack.

In some ways its the most just punishment for his crimes that he gets a chance to play again but does not reach reach the heights that everyone including himself thought he could reach and it would also keep a regret in his heart what if ...

Top knock from Shafiq. Needs to get a big one now. His scoring rate shows just how different he is from the rest of the Pakistani batsmen like YK, Azhar, Misbah who are generally slow starters.

Huh, had no idea this had started. We're spoiled with the amount of cricket we're having these days.

Nice of Azhar Ali to ensure that the unbeaten 300 does not bump up his average too much.

This is not true. Bowlers adjust their line and lengths all the time, especially lengths. Just look at the lengths someone like Johnson bowled in UAE 2014 or Starc bowled in Sri Lanka 2016 as opposed to the lengths they bowl in Australia. Anderson and Broad are other examples. Watch their lengths vs Pakistan this series as opposed to vs Pakistan in 2015 series.

Adjusting their line and length as advice is meaningless when you don't specify what line and length he is supposed to bowl..
