I reckon this'll be Gambhir's last bat in Test cricket no matter how well he does. It's not often they're going to need to use their fourth choice opener and he's older than the guys ahead of him. I suppose he could get himself ahead of Dhawan if he manages a 70* or so here, but I don't see it.

As much as I can't stand jonbrooks, it's approaching the point where he's got a point about Taylor. He's been awful this tour and in SA, and you can't help but worry that his eye-sight problems are starting to compound.
He was ridiculously unlucky in SA tbh. Runout in one test and got an unplayable grubber in the other.

And now he's injured. Heh.

Keen for a Pujara knock at a strike rate of 47 to be despised by everyone for his low energy.

India should have to forfeit their entire second innings for this blatant cheating.

Unfortunately they'd still win.

All in all, quite an unlucky day for the Kiwis. Guppy, Neesham and Patel's wickets were just bad luck. Should have scored 370 easily.

Neesham
Santner
Wagner
Henry
Boult

to be the NZ lower order at home?
Yeah I think so (it's how I'd go), although Watling may still bat below Neesham, and they may try and get Southee back in there even though he doesn't really deserve it at this point.
