Shami is seriously good with reverse, huh? If we can keep this combination fit, it's beautiful. Bhuvi with new ball swing, Shami for reverse, + Ashwin/Jadeja/Mishra.

LBW decisions this series ave been absolutely dire. Even if there was DRS, I don't think it would help much, because you'd be tempted to use it almost every single time they've been so dodgy, probably run out of challenges well before the end of the innings.

Tbf the way things stand it may not be the worst thing for India to choose to use Hawk-eye lite drs, a lot of the decisions that look out would be clipping at best with the benefit of hawk eye and the way the spinners - particularly Jadeja - operate they're mostly waiting for LBWs all day.

Perhaps you've mixed up your double negative? I think India would lose some of their home-town advantage if they had DRS, based on the evidence this series it is Jadeja-like darting SLA that get bonus lbws that can't be challenged, so having DRS would allow a team like NZ to overturn some decisions and be more competitive.

Yeah, I agree ... India have had some shockers this series too both when bowling and batting ... but overall I think the lack of referrals has been to their benefit.

No, i realise at some point that India will probably bite the bullet and use DRS. There have been signs to that effect that they don't like drs because of Hawk eye being used for LBWs. A watered down version without hawk eye won't be a million miles away from the status quo but will prevent howlers. It will be a bitch to enforce umpire's call though, not sure how they'll do it.
