Eden Gardens - the place I used to love during school-daysFriend gifted me tickets for all five days. Will try and go on Saturday and Sunday at least.
Had actually wondered the rationale behind Wagner batting 11 last Test - wondered if he had been carrying a niggle or something?
That was bizarre. While Boult did score a fifty on a low pudding in Bangladesh, that has very little relevance on turning Indian pitches and his defense is generally pretty terrible. Wagner is simply better than that with the bat.I just thought they backed Boult more against the spinners. I can't really remember seeing Wagner bat much against spin before.
Yeah but we're living in a world where Ravi Ashton is regarded by many posters as a "genuine allrounder".Jeets can bat but he is a dangerous number 9 rather than anyone you'd want in the top 8.
I'm not jumping on the Ashwon is the greatest since Sobers train either, but what world doesn't see a Test cricketer who after 37 tests averages mid 30s with bat and mid 20s with ball as being a genuine allrounder?Yeah but we're living in a world where Ravi Ashton is regarded by many posters as a "genuine allrounder".
I heard Hesson say Watling won't bat higher than No. 7 on this tour even though on ability he deserves to, so it may be a similar little Hesson consideration for fitness. Enduro Wagner being given just the ten minutes before NZ's required to bowl. That was bizarre. Yeah, and they batted five or six, not at number eight for most of their careers.I'm not jumping on the Ashwon is the greatest since Sobers train either, but what world doesn't see a Test cricketer who after 37 tests averages mid 30s with bat and mid 20s with ball as being a genuine allrounder?
Only Imran & Miller have better numbers as bowling all-rounders.
Not quite true, Imran batted mostly at 7, and actually batted more times at 8 than he did at 6. His promotion to 6 happened quite late in his career, saying nothing about that fact India bat a lot deeper than Pakistan did in Imran's time.Yeah, and they batted five or six, not at number eight for most of their careers.
