"would be"? "if"?Imagine how glorious it would be if Patel bowled us to an unlikely series win now. If Stephen Donald deserved a cheesy TV movie, Jeets would too.
****in' lol

He'd want to be scoring truckloads of runs down the order too, bowling didn't lose us the first Test.Imagine how glorious it would be if Patel bowled us to an unlikely series win now. If Stephen Donald deserved a cheesy TV movie, Jeets would too.
FixedJeets to bowl his way to #1 NZ spinner and eventually #1 of all time and will retire at 42 after leading us to victories across the universe.
Congrats btw, two players potentially in a test XI. Would probably be Wellington's proudest cricket moment no?I'm interested in hearing your opinion about Luke Ronchi out scoring KW
I think they belong in different discussions. In the context of this series or when talking about England-India later in the year or Australia-India next year, it has absolutely zero relevance. Ashwin is a world class spinner today and I won't be surprised if he gets close to 300 test wickets by the time his current home season of 13 test matches end.I dont understand the obsession with Ashwin's away stats. So what if he is the Virender Sehwag of Indian spinners? I will take that over what we had previously any day, tbh. Its ok if he is not going to be a Dravid or a Sachin amongst the spinners.
Read an article this morning that had KW saying how all the other Wellington members in the BlackCaps team were very excited that Jeets was playing.Congrats btw, two players potentially in a test XI. Would probably be Wellington's proudest cricket moment no?
Lol, Mitchell Johnson? Miles better than that spud. Ashwin hit multiple 50s in his previous tour to Australia. Johnson was a lower order bat who briefly hit a purple patch as a batsman. Ashwin has played as an opener at the domestic level. You would not consider batting Johnson anywhere above #8, Ashwin could play at #7 if there were no other options. This is all irrelevant anyway because all this talk popped up as a knee jerk response to him hitting a milestone. I would wait another 5 years or until his retirement before talking about his place in Indian cricket history. I think its safe to say he is well on his way to at least become the second spinner behind Kumble in an all time Indian XI.Here's a fact: viriya was doing loads posting about his bowling, not his faux all round talents. He's the spin world's Mitchell Johnson. A handy lower-middle order player and a fine bowler when conditions suit him/ he's in the mood.
The fact there are two spinners in India's AT XI is testament to its historical weakness as a test playing country.Lol, Mitchell Johnson? Miles better than that spud. So?The fact there are two spinners in India's AT XI is testament to its historical weakness as a test playing country.
Bangladesh and Zimbabwe aside, if Ashwin bats seven in that AT side, then ipso facto its the weakest AT side going around.
Yes, it's not like the Australian ATXI has that. The fact there are two spinners in India's AT XI is testament to its historical weakness as a test playing country.
Worked well for Guptill. He also doesn't open domestically, has next to no experience playing in the top order and has a worse NZ domestic record than Guptill. Ronchi SHOULD NOT be in the discussion for opener. He is there as a back up middle order player and likely opened so he could get as much time at the crease as possible, not to test his mettle against the new ball.
