Yep and was absolute **** last season too. Probably crap before then too but didn't get to see him then.
It's hit the headlines hard after Sunday though. Feels like there's enough momentum that Mou might finally get rid.Yep and was absolute **** last season too. Probably crap before then too but didn't get to see him then.
Like I've been saying he shouldn't have made the squad for Euro 2016. There must be something in his contract because almost everyone now has twigged that he's complete shite.
Haha this occurred to me as well.I can't believe Mourinho played him in midfield after mocking the idea in a press conference when he took the job.
Nah, Mourinho dropped Casillas at Real Madrid, absolutely no chance he's bowing to pressure to play Rooney.Yeah, I remember him scoffing at the very notion of it, and tbf to him he was absolutely right to as far as I'm concerned.
Perhaps, as others have alluded to, he is under some pressure to play him, and he's just come to the conclusion that, in spite of Rooney being awful, he's actually less of a liability/detriment to the team in midfield than he is up front. (e.g. As long as we can actually get the ball to Zlatan we can be relatively sure he'll score, whereas Rooney...)
It's about the only explanation I can think of.
Haha, sounds like a non sequitur argument to me.Nah, Mourinho dropped Casillas at Real Madrid, absolutely no chance he's bowing to pressure to play Rooney.
I don't agree with this. His ability to judge a player's ability has always been miles better than his handling of internal politics. I think it's more likely that he's trying not to repeat his political mistakes at RM than that he can't actually see that Rooney is shite.Nah, Mourinho dropped Casillas at Real Madrid, absolutely no chance he's bowing to pressure to play Rooney.
You need to light a J and chillax bruh. It isn't normal to be this negative.Yep and was absolute **** last season too. Probably crap before then too but didn't get to see him then.

I think that's the case. If he ousted Rooney from the get-go there'd still be some part of the United support, the English press and even his own players that may have had a bad feeling about it. This way, it's them telling him to drop him. That's the only power struggle left for Mourinho in terms of actually setting up the team.I don't agree with this. I was going to call this a political error but I'm actually not sure. I would have loved to see it if he'd got the Schweinsteiger treatment or shipped off like Joe Hart. But the English media would put him in a really difficult position if we lost two games in a row with Rooney in exile. Maybe he really does need everyone to see how shite he is for themselves before he can drop him.
Yeah I think we're unlikely to improve a huge amount immediately after dropping him, especially if Mkh is still out injured. It'll take us a while to figure out what our best system is, but it definitely doesn't involve planting an overgrown potato in the middle of our attack. There's obviously a wider debate to be had here about the quality of Utd's performances and so on, but I don't think anyone's missing that point per se. No matter how you slice it Rooney is just flat out terrible.
His 'political' mistakes at Real Madrid were playing shite football and acting like a petulant arsehole. Ancelotti also didn't play Casillas but didn't run into problems with the club's hierarchy because he wasn't embarassing them with his antics.I don't agree with this. Ancelotti is a political master and footballing mediocrity. He still picked Casillas in Europe, purely for political reasons, and was incredibly lucky that it didn't cost him a CL final to Atletico. His 'political' mistakes at Real Madrid were playing shite football and acting like a petulant arsehole. As a 10 Rooney will just not provide goals. As a midfielder he won't track and will cost goals. He's a bigger liability in midfield IMO. Especially in that 3 man midfield with no defensive shield.Yeah, I remember him scoffing at the very notion of it, and tbf to him he was absolutely right to as far as I'm concerned.

Depends if you rate your goal scoring potential higher than your goal conceding potential surely. Doesn't really matter how many you concede as long as Zlatan bangs in more etc...As a 10 Rooney will just not provide goals. As a midfielder he won't track and will cost goals.
