@GaleyLad Can you confirm the rumours Rashid has asked to be rested? VERY poor if true. Letting a lot of people down.

Andrew Gale @GaleyLad
Yes, he wants to rest. That's his decision. I'll take 11 lads on the field who will give everything to win

sure hope he doesnt plan on ever returning to that dressing room

Meh he's got 3 months on the road in India and Bangladesh with no break followed by a short break over christmas followed by another month and that's coming off a full home season having come straight from a world t20 campaign. They leave 30 September to Bangladesh. Good on him for asking for a break to try and be at peak mental and physical condition for international cricket. I've got sympathy with him and Gale is a tool for throwing him under the bus- but then again I get the impression he's pretty bitter seeing all the players around him playing for England.

It pains me to say it but I have a lot of sympathy for Yorkshire and hope they win the title despite Strauss trying to fix it for Middlesex. There is no way they shouldn't have let Bairstow play this week .

Let's just hope Somerset win then, it's a bit due.

So basically Rashid is a gutless cretin who won't lift a finger nor go the extra mile for his countymen who would no doubt rather commit an honour-suicide than succumb to the pleasure of doing nothing while their comrades fight.

Was probably his last chance to taste victory for the next few months too.

Really bizarre move by Rashid. I mean, it just doesn't make sense. If he had some injury niggle, I would maybe get that he doesn't want to exacerbate it given the international calendar. I don't know, maybe a mountain of a mole hill.

It does seem a very odd move, he had a fallout with the Tyke management around the same time as Shahzad Didn't he?

Think it's probably time for him to move County TBH, he does it from a reasonably strong position. Him and Leach could spin it up I reckon. Rafiq could do with a run.

Why didn't they kick up a stink when told about it in July then?

Joke of a decision seeing as Finn is playing for Middlesex anyway.

If I had been Bairstow i'd have played anyway, not a lot they can do to a non contracted player.

As for Rashid, oh dear.
