Excellent point Cabinet96 be foolish to drop him until the end of the decade.
This made me laugh.

That was so much fun, such a good weekend.
Reported, though I'll admit Mourinho starting to do exactly as he left off at Chelsea, is a slight silver-lining.Interviews getting similar too, blaming of refs, luck, with just a bit about his team, better team lost BS.

Rooney will go down as a legend of the game despite the fact that the tail end is dragging, and has been for a while. But it just isn't feasible anymore for a club with United's ambitions to carry him this way. His direct opposing example is De Bryune. If Rooney or whoever for United isn't meeting that standard then they need to rethink. Despite the fact that they've brought in some big, talented, players; it still looks like United are building things around Rooney and that has to stop.

Ironically though I think you could say Rooney has looked better this season than last.

I know Kane has been shite for a few months now, but not marking him in the 6-yard box seems a bit like taking the piss.

Manager of the month in August, sacked in September. Tough old gig. Oh well, I liked Brabs but he'd lost the fans and you never win them back.

Bloody hell, how many managers have you had recently, it's like I always said, should have kept with Barnes......

I always thought it was internet meme type bollocks, but the more often Rooney starts you do begin to wonder is their something in his contract where he has to play a certain percentage of games?

How Jose solves or whether he even goes about resolving it will be crucial in establishing if he still has it anymore.
I had expected the one thing JM would be able to do was manage Rooney but it's not looking like it. So add him to Moyes and LVG as managers unable to handle him. BFS and Hodgson in the same category really. I don't get it. I doubt he has the pull to swing the dressing room anymore and fellow players must wonder why he continues to get picked. Might as well make him player manager if no one has the balls to address the issue since he must be pulling the strings anyway.

It is early but the sorting sign for me other than Rooney is JM not seeming to know what players and system he wants like LVG and Moyes before him.

Brabin was there for 16 months.
Micky Adams for 7 months
Rob Edwards for 3 months
John McMahon did the caretaker gig for 3 months
Ronnie Moore was just short of two years (in his third spell)

Wtf that's ludicrous.
While I was against the sacking, it's probably not as ludicrous as it seems from the outside.

1. Biggest club in the conference by some distance and could only finish 6th last season. He kept his job on the back of a strong second half to the season and the theory that stability was key, but it wasn't a popular decision so things were always going to turn nasty this season if we weren't at the top constantly
2. Unattractive football, attendances are down and the fare on offer is often dull. We don't beat teams more than one or two nil, not even the whipping boys, and play our biggest goal threat out wide
3. We had a great start, but the last six games have yielded W1 D2 L3. The one win in there was against a side who hadn't earned a point by then and we laboured to a one nil. We've not scored in the last three games and couldn't string more than a couple of passes together yesterday. We found ourselves in a rut that looked like it would be a long way back and in a league where on average the champions get 95-100 points, you can't dither about it. One automatic promotion spot means you don't have time to ride it out

At the end of the day, people say it's a hard league to get out of, the stats bear it out. But we have a starting eleven managers at this level would kill for and its looking like being the most open conference season for years, so this is the chance. Everyone is worried that if we don't do it this year, we become another Lincoln or Wrexham. It took Grimsby years to get out, and Grecian can tell you all about that too

It sounds to me like, if a start like this would have resulted in his sacking, the right thing to do was move on at the end of last season. 'Let's stick with him for now but bin him if we're below 4th two weeks after the transfer window' is just a complete mess.

There's no transfer window at our level anymore so that's not a factor.

Otherwise I think your point is fair and like I say I wouldn't have advocated sacking him.

Watching utd and Chelsea these last few years has been amazing. Long may it continue.

Shame Liverpool and City look good, but at least they have likeable guys at the helmet.
