Scary thing is we could pick Woakes till he is 31 and Curran would still be a young pup in cricketing terms, also good we don't have to rush him in as we have nobody else. He can learn and develop in his own time.

Only using 31 as a timescale as usually the bowlers are picking up more injuries around that age. Woakes may be different.
Yeh, I like that he's a really smart lo bowler who swings the ball as much as Willey but a little faster and skidder. Spinners obviously go on longer so as Ali is only 29 he got another 5 years or so in him and his lo bowling is better then his Test bowling for me. Crazy amount of talented all-rounder's.

Stokes winning it for Durham unless the younger Curran can do something exceptional with the last couple of batsmen.

Surrey just need 59 now with only 3 wicket's left, Stokes got Roy, Foakes and Tom Curran, would be hugely impressive if Sam can take them home against this Test standard bowling.

The Foakes wicket was vital, as he and SCurran had added 50+ and were looking safe. Batty and Meaker can bat a bit, but probably not against these guys. Footitt's a complete rabbit though.

The other thing is that the runs have dried up a bit and the new ball's due soonish.

Yeh if they need more then 15 when the new ball is taken you'd worry for them against Wood if they lose other wicket.

Stokes really stepping up a gear when needed. 8 down now, and SCurran may be politely asking his elders wtf they've been playing at.

Stokes gets Batty with 29 needed, so so exciting. Meanwhile SKY are showing live women golf...

Meaker gone too, without bothering to trouble the scorers. Good job the result doesn't affect us, as most of the batting has been shocking. You can see why they've signed two new top order batters for next year.

That's a shame for Sam what he did with the bat and ball in the 2nd innings was brilliant. Only 16 matches but averages nearly 40 with the bat and under 30 with the ball and seems calm under pressure, huge talent.

Ah Durham are finally back after a few shocking matches.

Will finish above Slurrey in 4th unless they have a really bad loss in the final match. Could do with an overseas bat for next season if finances allow.

Midwinter

State Captain
Good round for the ex pats

Joof with a century
Magoffin 10 wickets in the match
Cossie got a century and 95no and saved the game
Hogan got a five for after a lean spell
Rogers made 60 odd and captained a victory against Yorks

Yeah must be terrible to be struggling pointlessly in County cricket and only have two England players, I can't imagine your justified sense of injustice.

Anyway, in a point utterly unrelated, Somerset could still win the Championship, but even if they don't thankfully there looks to be no England call-ups to hinder our progress.
