Yeah he would bat 6. Probably going to get him or Walcott because I expect famous modern players like Dhoni to be picked first

Should go for Knott if available imo. Would become a truly great team. Doesn't look like he will be that popular on there either.

That's my all time XI.

Might do one for each major test playing nation at some stage.

I've been doing a draft on reddit with 8 players which is an all-time draft designed to finish with a simming tournament on DBC14.

Despite not getting one of the first few picks I've done pretty well because outside of the streamlining of this process on CW people have some ideas that are a little odd to our ears

My team so far

Len Hutton (picked round 3)
Sunil Gavaskar (r5)
Wally Hammond (r7)
-
-
Keith Miller (r4)
Imran Khan (round1, pick 6)
-
Dennis Lillee (r6)
Muttiah Muralitharan (r2)
-
Quick update

1. Sunil Gavaskar (R5)
2. Len Hutton (R3)
3. Wally Hammond (R7)
4.
5. Allan Border (R8)
6. Keith Miller (R4)
7.
8. Imran Khan (R1)
9. Dennis Lillee (R6)
10. Muttiah Muralitharan (R2)
11. Bill O'Reilly (R9)

I reckon there are two other sides in the comp that will take some beating and have been selected according to CW approved methods. Annoyingly one of them had Round 1 Pick 1.

The Streakers CC

1. Herbert Sutcliffe (R6)

Whatever it takes!!!
That Bradman side wins right? See if you can sneak in Sanggakkara or Engineer or someone who is good at keeping to spin. You can get Dhoni and claim you will be awesome as he will get a lot of dismissals for Murali and O'Reilly...

Sangakkara, Flower, Gilchrist, De Villiers and now Walcott have been picked. There are 8 teams so I'm intending to get whichever of Ames and Knott doesn't get picked. The last batting spot is probably just going to be Joe Root so as I can get the rootometer out in match threads.

Whatever it takes!!!
I was gonna suggest Walcott as the reddit tends to be more biased towards the recent side of history from my experience there.. Well, Ames sounds good but you can consider Healy perhaps, given the strength of your batting?

On topic who do you think would win between

Seam XI

Sunil Gavaskar
Jack Hobbs
Ricky Ponting
Wally Hammond
Jacques Kallis
Steve Waugh
Clyde Walcott+
Imran Khan
Wasim Akram
Malcolm Marshall
Glenn McGrath

Spin XI

Len Hutton
Virender Sehwag
Viv Richards
Sachin Tendulkar
Brian Lara
Allan Border
Garry Sobers
Adam Gilchrist+
Hedley Verity/Jim Laker
Shane Warne
Muttiah Muralitharan
Bill O'Reilly

Assumptions:

Bradman doesn't count, yes I know he bowled leggies
Conditions are equally conductive to seam and spin

Howe_zat

Feel like the Seam XI would do better at using both the new and old ball and bowling in partnerships as none of the spinners would have been in an attack like that.

Is Sobers allowed to bowl seam up for the Spin XI? I think the answer to that question would ultimately decide who I'd expect to win.
