Yup, shortish boundaries behind square. Fair play to him, if you swing hard enough those half/top edges can fly.

Intelligent skippers knock on this type of wicket, played cautiously most of the time, but has given it the full throttle on attack.

It's still day 2 though. I think people these days forget how long a period of time 5 days really is. Unless you're going at 1 rpo, you shouldn't really be criticizing scoring rates much. Especially when the conditions have actually helped the bowlers, like they have here.

i agree, and few of the sa batsmen have looked comfortable enough under the conditions to really attack, they have mostly just been surviving.

the longer we stay out there the harder it will get for nz.

Lol, what? They're 400 now with 50 overs left in the day. My bet is they'll aim for 120 in 30 overs, with 15 overs to try & nip a couple out. Good weather forecast or not, I don't think SA will feel they need 600+ here.

they are ultra conservative and with so much time left. we are still giving ourselves three days to bowl at nz and also ensuring that we keep the game safe.

i hope we get to bowl today but i have seen this song and dance enough times.
