I think all the pitches were pretty good home condition pitches. Good bats and application could make runs and good bowling got rewarded. **** batting and bowling got punished. Great Test cricket all round.

So playing the ipl is apparently more of a learning experience for him than captaining the national team . You'd think he should relish every moment and get as much experience as possible leading the side when he's only just taken over the reigns a few months ago.

It's a new pitch isn't it? They used a brand new pitch in the series vs India last year and it was a genuine greentop which produced a brilliant test.

SL always have produced more sporting pitched overall than Pakistan and India imo. Galle, Pallekele, Dambulla, Kandy all offer significant assistance to pretty much all kinds of bowlers. The issue was that, as you said, the SSC was a piece of **** road and it always got a test. Seems that's been resolved now.

Yeah, was little wrong with the decks in the Test series, the only thing the leading bowlers from each side had in common was the arm they bowl with. Some encouragement for all the bowlers and, for the bats, the hardest part was getting a start but anyone who did got runs and relatively quickly. The team that won and how much they won by probably reflected the difference between the teams, perfect.

tbf a bowler to batsman comparison in terms of impact is unfair just because the bowler can only impact 10% of the game while a batsman can impact 50%.
