Openers are trash. kjp has batted OK ,mendis has done well and Mathews was coming back into form.de Silva batted OK for a youngster and Chandi was due some as has had a bad series..if we get the opening partnership sorted it's not too bad as a top six-nowhere near top drawer but ok

It's the worst performance by openers ever if you sort by country. India in NZ averaged 4.5 runs.
