*Official* Pakistan in England and Ireland 2016

Is Younis the GOAT Pakistani Test batsman? If not, what does he need to do to be considered that before he retires?

Is this another epic case of Gambhiring, or do people actually think England are in a good position?

There is already an - albeit small - first innings deficit against a side that are only 6 down. The batsman that are coming back out tomorrow have a combined test batting average which is a couple of lucky swipes away from 100.

England could easily face a three figure first innings deficit, and England going through one spell running through Pakistan in a prior test - where the ball started reversing - doesn't mean that's going to happen again.

Another day of missed opportunites Asad throwing it away before the new ball could be the critical moment in the game we could have gone to stumps 4 down. Azhar and Asad frustrate me dont have the mentality of world class batsman azhar casual stroke and Asad's in this game shows they dont have the hunger to go big and in regards to Iftikhar the most pointless selection cant believe Babar Azam is sitting in Pakistan while this idiot is part of the playing XI.

The lower order for Pakistan have been somewhat dodgy and Pakistan when batting fourth will want a 120 or so lead which won't be easy to achieve especially if this partnership is broke early.

Betting wise, England are very slight favs which I think is fair enough.

Pakistan well ahead. Great days play, really enjoyed it. Beautiful weather and stadium. Pakistan batted superbly, Woakes spell keeps us on life support.

Are these the two best teams in the world?

Rare to watch such a competitive series. Quality bowling quality batting from both sides across a decent range of conditions.

Fielding being the massive elephant in the room.

So happy that Younis has ttfu.

And you had written him off. I had written off both YK and Misbah in 2010 and in the last 6 years, have grown to understand these two men and never to write them off ever again. They will know when the time is right to leave.
wow thats so deep, how do you even know they can make their own decisions? thats way too much insight

England are in a much better position than they were when Pakistan were 280/3.

Good ball to Younus early tomorrow and England are into the tail, could easily keep the deficit to 50-75 runs which would be amazing given the mess they were in.

Eh, I think we've both been utter ****, both teams have religiously wasted the new ball, and both teams main bats have only really had 1 top innings each, with the rest being naff.

But weirdly at the same time I'd put both of these two teams in these conditions to wreck every other team in the world right now, so I think it's more just an example of how crap the standard is at the minute IMO.

Well yeah the bowling has probably been disappointing. But while everyone was getting excited about Amir returning and Pakistan's attack, the smart money realized he hadn't bowled much long format cricket and Rahat and Wahab aren't pinnacles of consistency. Probably most disappointing is that there haven't been real bowling plans displayed.

Still, Cook is the best opener in the world and it's a good batting lineup. Many teams would've crumbled.

but have to admit that the series has been competitive, much more so than folks (such as myself) would have thought possible at the beginning of this series

Anything below 150 lead and I don't fancy Pakistan. England's batting depth is just insane. Having said that, c'mon Pakistan, you can do it!
