Do you have Rahane in there for CW overrating him or general public overrating him?
CW.

From a number of fans on a number of occassions I have heard him touted as being considerably better than Virat. That led to his ensconcement in my sig. Who cares if he occassionally performs when Virat doesn't. There needs to be some discernment here.

Fair enough. I mainly asked because he isn't rated highly from general cricket public so it would have been odd if you thought he was. But on CW he does get spoken up a lot (in my view legitimately but hey) so I get where you are coming from.

Rahane has played more "great" innings than any of the fab 4 in my view. He's actually closer to a pietersen in terms of a great/memorable innings player than Kohli.

Kohli overall is better though. Anyone who doesn't think so is entitled to their view but it's a wrong view.

Reminds me of those bloke who thought Pujara was better than Kohli.

He was, at one point.

The only time Pujara was better was when Kohli hadn't debuted yet.
Disagree, during the England tour of India in 2012 Kohli looked like a noob with head problems while Pujara was magic.

Edit: At that point

Kohli 13 tests, average 35.81
Pujara 8 tests, average 61.25

care to list them? I can think of maybe 2 truly great innings from Rahane, whereas I can think of maybe 4 for Root and around 5-6 for KW and Kohli

Just the sheer amount of Smith's greatness being ignored in this thread recently is incredible, though.

It'll even out in 10 years when he retires with more runs at a better average than all of the others.

I'll reply tomorrow when I'm not on my phone. Will be interesting to see. He definitely has more than 2 though.

do root (in australia) and kohli (in england) have the biggest holes in their cvs and points to prove?

can't think of one for kw or smith.

South Africa for KW.

Would venture to say that none of them have tonned up on a raging seamer either like Rahane or Warner have.
