Why is Blofeld back on full rotation for TMS? I thought they'd managed to scale him back to one or two tests per summer as he refuses to retire gracefully.

Well Aggers is at the Olympics isn't he so they are short this week and next anyway.

Really angry with this pitch. I had heard rumours they couldn't afford another 3 day test (they have insurance against tickets and bar takings but not against hospitality packages which are really lucrative) and this really looks like a CEO pitch. I don't want greentops but pace/bounce please.

Oval to come and we haven't had a pitch that suits England yet in 4 match series in England.

Stu looks on it today. Would have given him an extra couple with the new ball, we've let them off since then. Of course that's mostly down to the pitch.

The pitch hasn't been that bad. The first 20 wickets fell for 697 runs in 222 overs. That's not ridiculous.

Fact is that neither side have bowled well enough to win this match.

If you haven't watched a ball maybe. This pitch is flatter than it was Day 1. That is not acceptable.

Ideal test pitch should have something in it for bowlers day 1 (pace + bounce), flatten out slightly day 2 and 3 then start to break up and bring spinners into it day 4/5. Now obvious that is really hard to produce. But a pitch that keeps on getting flatter is just not good.

Great over from Moeen.

I've watched probably about 200 overs of the match. Whilst obviously it's flat, had England bowled better and set better fields then they probably would have won this match. They still might.

Great bowling. Really great spell from Moeen, beautiful drift/revs.

When teams can't attack him because of match situation he looks better.

He's a bit too (relatively) rocks and diamonds for mine. Like, when he struggles he struggles hard and doesn't punch out ugly 50s regularly like Tendulkar did.
Its a bit easier to make an ugly 50 batting in the middle order half of your career in India, opening the batting half your career in England is about as hard as it gets.

What a game Ali is having, best he's bowed for a while.
