*Official* Pakistan in England and Ireland 2016

The problem with Wood is he could pick up another injury anytime, especially if he's pushing his body to the limit on a hard flat track. Woakes has been so good with the ball its unfair to leave him out, he's not that much slower then Wood either. Could rotate them or give Jimmy a rest for 1 of the Bangladesh games and play both.

Anderson didn't play in Bangladesh in 2010. I wouldn't be surprised if he or Broad got rested for the series, which would allow something of a bowl off. Though they also act as warm up games for India so it probably wouldn't be that wise.

People are underrating survival instinct of Hafeez and tremendous potential he has of scoring boundaries. This innings is his last chance to be in the team and he earns millions of dollars of his position( Highest paid pak cricketer as per reports.)

He will be pressed hard to perform and will go after Broad and Anderson , sure enough he might edge Anderson a few times but once he gets his feet set on this dead pitch he will be hard to stop, his wrists are amazing and when in flow looks really elegant. His cover game is super strong so all outside off deliverers will be punished . With calm and collected Sami Aslam on his side he will really have a go. ( If anyone thinks I am making this up, looks up Hafeez's innings in 2nd t20 against India in India 2012) One of the most silky innings you would see under pressure of chasing and crowd.

With cook under a lot of pressure to be attacking captain, he wont go more than 350 in lead. You heard it here first folks, if hafeez fires pak might just win yhis. Sarfraz is the key to hang with tail and smash Moeen Ali in last session to help Pak score those last runs....

This coming from an Indian , I would like Pak to be tested obv but feel like this is not as hard a task as many are making it out. West Indies has way inferior batting and lost one wocket all day on 5th day. Tests are changing folks..

We probably won't go to Bangladesh.
Anyone notice our new nwm. Broad all padded up. Good idea to have him as quick runs in the morning are needed. We now have three nwm to come in according to the situation Finn, Woakes and Broad.

I think that was a little misleading yesterday. They eventually showed that Woakes was also padded up.

Woakes should always be England's night watchman when he's in the side. Sending out a bunny makes absolutely no sense, at least Woakes is capable of both surviving the night and then scoring some runs the following morning.

I guess Cook is a far too defensive a captain to declare overnight. 311 is already enough and they might probably need the second new ball to finish Pakistan off. Would be absolutely hilarious if Pakistan hangs on with only Sohail and Rahat left after Cook takes too long to declare, only for England to be spun out by Yasir in an Oval bunsen. The salt levels would reach critical mass.

FMD and so it begins.

I thought it would be at least an hour into play before we have to start hearing this ****ing shite.

I do think there should be an overnight declaration. It's not disgustingly defensive if it doesn't happen, but on the scale of things with the risk/reward ratio, it should be made.

Sure, it's easy to say that from the comfort of our armchairs or the commentary box. But at 1-1 with one more to play neither captain is going to go all in for the win in this test.......Cook will cop **** guaranteed for a late declaration but 100% if we set Misbah 350 to get in 80 odd overs they will not go for it.

Edit:

As Howe said earlier, if Eng declare overnight then Cook has to keep his eye on the run rate all day.........set a target that's out of reach then he can go full on attack and not worry about leaking runs.

Yep, this is not like the NZ test where their is always the slight fear that someone like Bmac or Anderson could make the target look nothing if they get going thus more runs the better, Pakistan for all their talents do not have a destructive batsman who can hurt England quickly.

Errr, their captain has the second fastest test ton in history.

Edit:

Not that that is relevant in the slightest to the declaration judgement.

I can't say I'm expecting much, hoping for a hundred from YJB and a close finish. The Pakistan batsmen getting a good Stuing would be ideal but above and beyond the call of duty

So now Misbah is not defensive enough for Warne.. Put all the fielders in the deep.. I'm pretty sure had Misbah done that, Warne would have picked on him for being 'negative'
