Wouldn't mind getting saved by rain though. In living memory I can't think of a single time Australia have been saved by rain in a Test, but well over a dozen times it's cost us a win since I've been watching cricket.

I know it's probably because they've been in winning positions more often in general over that time period but still

All the complaints about pitch look a bit stupid now, one of the best tests in recent times, will be a shame if it rains out

as much as i don't like smith obviously i like australia

and trial by spin from someone like rangana (who as you'd know i love, and i have loved ever since i saw him on tv when SL toured Aus in 2011) is a very good learning experience for a young captain and a team known by some as home track bullies

Nevill and O'Keefe would be two of the best Australian bats (including domestic players) at dead batting to survive so I don't mind this tactic for this pair.
