Braithwaite is one of those weird guys who I rate and am a big fan of but hate watching bat because his batting is atrocious aesthetically.

They've got some snazzy laptops there in the Indian dressing room. I also need a new one, is it worth heavily overpaying for one of those MacBook Pros? Apparently there's a new out later this year.

Shami has been brilliant. Was really hyped when he took all those wickets with yorkers against WI on debut, hope he can really kick on this time.

Ishant's only redeeming quality is that he's seemingly indestructible, injury-wise. I don't think he'd get a game even for Sri Lanka right now.

But SL has the best bowling attack in the world according to Jayasuriya. :p

Predictably hopeless stuff from us unfortunately, That's not to say that India haven't been really solid, because they have, but West Indies have been feeble to say the least.

The batting is going to be a bit rubbish for a whule unfortunately. I think Chase, Dowrich and Shai Hope have some real promise. They like to bat a long time and have all played big innings domestically. Dowrich already looks good at test level (though his keeping needs some work). Blackwood has lost the plot but he is so talented I have some hope he'll find it again.

That leaves KB and Bravo as Test match standard batsmen who can score runs against any team on any given day. Samuels will be gone after this series, it will be the short stuff for him. That will leave us with a ridiculously young and inexperienced line-up and they need time and patience. They will mess up a lot at first but I think they are worth persevering with. I would however prefer them to replace Chandrika with just about anyone, he really shouldn't be there.

The bowling in this test was an entirely avoidable piece of stupidity, something our selectores thrive at more than any other Test nation. Braithwaite and Holder are the same, they can't play together unless it's a realy seamers paradise. Cummins should be playing instead of Carlos and if they want another quick they could play Alzarri Joseph, drop Blackwood and bat Dowrich at 6. That would be a much better attack.

Yeah; Hope in for Samuels and Johnson in for Chandrika makes a lot of sense to me. Hopefully they don't make Hope open again though.

Rough. He's not great, but unlike most of your quicks he can actually build up some pressure regularly and actually knows how to bowl to a plan. His stats from about 2014 onwards have to be pretty good too. Not a world beater but he's surely ahead of most of the Lankan quicks? (apart from Chameera maybe)

indeed. Dwayne couldn't care less I imagine.

I think bagging the test guys for the champion dances by Gayle and Dwayne Bravo etc. is a bit harsh though. These guys just aren't that good.

I agree with the omission of Chandrika and Samuels. Happy with Johnson to play but not sold on Hope. I would like to see how Carter handles Test Cricket. I know his record is someone between average and Chandrika, but there is something about his technique which looks like he could handle himself reasonably well. The other option would be to blood Evin Lewis.

Blackwood needs to improve too, he seems to make a lot of ducks.
