*Official* Australia in Sri Lanka 2016

YorksLanka

International Debutant
Was he on the England tour or did he pull out because of injury?
yes mate, he was in the test leg. He only played the second test at Durham. He only got three wickets and 0&35 with the bat and then got dropped from the ODI tour..He recently got a fifty in the tour match against Aus in the first innings but we got blown away for 83 in the second innings so that was deemed good enough by our selectors to look elsewhere..Unfortunately, there is a lot of politics that goes on in SLC and who you know can be just as important as how you play..that's why most SL fans I know hate the board for ruining our cricket(not to mention the swindling!)

hoping herath gives us some trouble that way we get a restructured batting line up for when we tour india later, because if we get crunched against india i have no doubt there'll be pointless knee jerk selections where we drop nathan lyon and bring in shaun marsh because batting depth

always good when a milestone post is used to talk smack about a marsh

How's MMarsh saying he's ready for the SL spinners. Bloke has taken ver from Watto as the Test Match board game batsman

That will undoubtedly be the side. I wouldn't mind seeing Bird in for Marsh to give 5 bowlers but no chance they will do that.

Gob has correctly picked the XI - David Warner, Joe Burns, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith (capt), Adam Voges, Mitchell Marsh, Peter Nevill, Mitchell Starc, Steve O’Keefe, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon.

I heard the other day that with Warner still getting over his injury, our catches will be: first slip: Voges, second: Smith third: Khawaja gully: Starc (no idea when he bowls).

I hope it's this, I just hate so much that Mmarsh bats at # 6 with an average of 23.00, so rather Nevill who at least has a FC ave of 40 and SOK also has an identical FC average to Mmarsh so batting him at #7 would be okay imo

It's not even funny how SL is gonna get destroyed this series. And for the foreseeable future.

Joe Burns usually takes the first strike

Nup. Bottom order is too light on. I'd rather Henriques at #6 (better bat at this stage than Marsh and still a capable seamer) if we are playing 2 spinners. That said, I rate MMarsh and his batting will come on sooner rather than later.

Surprise packet: Stephen O'Keefe
Biggest failure: Dimuth Karunatne
