Been waiting all season for him to pull something out of his hat, has tempted often.

Ross Taylor has a ridiculous number of scores around 50 since starting playing for Sussex, without going on with any of them in any format.

First Class Debutant
Sam Northeast averaging over 100 with over 900 runs in 15 innings (more then any batsman in either division), I told him this time last year Ian Bell would lose his place in the England team soon and that he had the ability to play for England, he was very down to earth and said Bell is a fantastic player, how the tables have turned...

Gotta b very flat to let Surrey make 600+, even with Hampshire's average bowling. However Surrey's attack is possibly one of the better ones to have on a real flat wicket with the two decent spinners and two 85mph+ bowlers. Real bad result for Hampshire if they do lose given it's them and Surrey at the foot of div 1.

Mason Crane might look back and think he learned a lot from bowling that many overs on a flat pitch. Kind of vindicates the ECB's new toss policy to a degree.

Yes I think ultimately it will be good for the game, most teams are more geared towards bowling on spicy pitches than flat ones.

Also didn't realise Aneurin Donald's was the equal quickest first class double ton ever (tied with Ravi Shastri of all people).

What was a cruise has now been nicely ****ed up.

54 needed with 4 wickets left.
Amazed and slightly disappointed to see that Tom Smith has made the difference and not the spinners - distinctly unconvinced by Kegga these days - I'd like to see Parry get a run in the Championship side

Scraped home in the end, good that Hickey played a part too as a kind-of debutant (he has played a FC match before, but it was against Sri Lanka A).

Was at Cheltenham today to see the lions. Serious knock by Duckett. Played and missed maybe twice - and mishit a pull that lobbed over the bowler and into no-mans lands and that was it in terms of errors. Different class to everyone else on view. Pulled and cutted/cythed the seamers as is his way.
Toyed with the spinners albeit on a wicket that didn't seem to offer any real turn. Really a good player of spin. Scores 360 degrees and with only 4 men allowed outside the ring overs 11-40 no way to really stop him scoring quickly- Nailed every sweep/ reverse sweep that he played. Confident hitting straight aerially and rotates the strike well.

On the bowling front Wood was the standout. Beat the bat consistently through his 10 overs. Curran the normal consistent self. Garton looked a little short of quality but he's hardly played.

England's premier spinner helping Surrey out the relegation zone. Good performance with ansari injured. Notts in freefall right now.
