This is their third century stand in a year so it's not exactly unheard of.Remember thinking when England were 40 odd that I have never seen these two work at the same time (they might have, but I have never seen it). Pretty special.
People have to remember that you not only lost great players from the test side but the same players were integral to the shorter game and also there is no Malinga anymore. When you are in transition you don't go from low to high in the space of a tour it takes time.Congrats England, thumping victory..cue the tin foil hat brigade claiming SL should be banned to Lancashire second league..it was a bad day at the office, simple as that..move on, we will come.back in the next one..
Very true Sir, we are a young team and I do feel that this team will need time to gel and gain experience but its coming together ok. I still maintain that it was a bad day at the office yesterday so don't write us off yet . I hate making excuses, but I have to say to those who deem us a write off, that it is also worth noting that we are missing our two best current bowlers in Prasad and Chameera. The thing that genuinely worries me is the number of injuries our guys seem to be getting?First Mathews and now Chandimal- to me the reason has to be either our guys are unfit or the physio is not managing them correctly and I think its a bit of both tbh..People have to remember that you not only lost great players from the test side but the same players were integral to the shorter game and also there is no Malinga anymore. Have to say though it will be bloody hilarious if you beat Australia in the coming series.
Wickets are what count at this stage, obviously not getting smashed is preferable but the thing holding SL back from posting par scores in this series is that they haven't had big partnerships.Jordan for Moeen improves the balance of the bowling a bit, especially in home conditions that allow for it. Jordan's basically stolen 5 cheap overs there though, was bowling straight back of a length but Sri Lanka didn't even try to go after him until the end of his 4th over. Still, should help at the death.
True but the two shots Mendis did play to Jordan proved he was there to hit should they wish to try. You always have to take calculated risks even when you're partnership-building.Wickets are what count at this stage, obviously not getting smashed is preferable but the thing holding SL back from posting par scores in this series is that they haven't had big partnerships.
Rashid against Chandimal/Mathews now. This could be the game
Uhhh for real?Well batted Chandi, another half century.hope he turns it into a century..funny that some people back home are still calling for these two to be axed!
Perhaps every nation has a Piers Morgan.Uhhh for real?
