Incidentally, why didn't Finn play?? Was it just to slot 2 spinners in? Funny that all the pre game talk was about him being ready to lead the attack again and then they left him out.

I was there and the track looked as flat as a pancake so I guess they thought plunkett,woakes,Willey and Finn would have been overkill..I suppose the others batting ability put them ahead of Finn(having said that Willey looked like he was trying to kill flies with all the swishing he did)

If fit Finn should be first pick out of the quicks IMO. And really, it's great that we bat as low as we do but batting ability is no reason not to pick Finn. Rashid batting 11......now that's overkill.

Agreed, in the end I think they think that this is our best bowling line-up, the fact they can bat is just a plus, I actually think Rashid could bat higher then Plunkers or Willey (a nothing in batting in international cricket so far), if we didn't need about 15 an over.

Yeah Plunkett was named at 11 at the toss. I doubt they picked him for his batting.

SL is making the same mistake again. If Tharanga doesn't come at 47/2 then why is he in the team? He is not a finisher, surely?

We didn't do much wrong, lots of skied, mistimed shots into gaps and fine edges for four. Not convinced by Willey as a death bowler at all, he's a good opening swing bowler but I feel we're asking a bit much to have him close out. He wasn't terrible today but against a set power hitter he could easily get clobbered.
