I'm no weather expert, but I reckon the venue has to be an inland one to avoid humidity (dew) and it's got to be winter?
90% chance Manohar and Thakur are going to be parochial dicks once again and allot it to either Nagpur or Dharamsala.

Say what you want about Srinivasan, but he didn't favour Chennai when allocating matches.

Erm, there was a court ruling regarding safety of few stands because of which Chennai couldn't hold many international matches. Did get it's fair share of IPL games.

The argument wasn't that it didn't get it's fair share of matches. The argument was that it didn't receive more than it would usually have been alloted otherwise. Nagpur and Dharamsala get alloted far too many games in comparison to their situation before Manohar and Thakur happened.

The reason was the court ruling though. You can't put it as a point to say Srinavasan > Manohar etc on this particular aspect. We don't know it.

In 2011, 2012 and 2014 Chennai did host the IPL finals. Which is 'more than a fair share' of the finals for a four year period.

Why didn't the court ruling prevent it from hosting IPL games?

Regardless of the Chennai situation, you can absolutely say that the current dispensation is parochial. Compare the number of games alloted to Nagpur pre and post Manohar, keeping in mind that Nagpur has never been a major Test centre and still doesn't deserve to be one given the location of the stadium and the sparse crowds that show up.

I am not sure. The court cases went on for a while. They had those stands empty for matches many times as a result. Probably made it difficult to hold more international games with 12000 seats gone as for international games many tickets are pre given to members etc. This isn't the case as much during IPL games and more tickets are available for general public.

This doesn't make sense. If Nagpur can host games with a stadium attendance of one man and his dog, why can't Chennai?

It makes perfect sense to avoid a ticketing nightmare. If there are 12000 less seats, that means very few tickets would be sold to the public given the members, clubs etc. Don't know member tickets in Nagpur but reckon it would be lower. Chennai has a huge sporting culture with lots of clubs etc.

What difference does that make? The M.A.Chidambaram with half it's stands unavailable would still attract a lot more spectators than Nagpur.

Yeah edited to 'wasn't'. So how is hosting three IPL finals in four years not going overboard?

The finals were hosted by the team that last won the cup. CSK won twice in 2010 and 2011, and therefore hosted the final twice in 2011 and 2012.
