Is there a NZA tour scheduled this winter?

Had a bit of a look online but couldn't find anything
Good question ? If no "A" tour an NZC Winter Training Squad ? ?

With the domestic season over, I'd say Ed Nuttall was the biggest mover.

And I'm a plunket affecienado yet he only played 2 rounds.

Biggest busts of the year:

1) Leopard - why was he even hyped.
2) Seifert - I would say his last game notwithstanding - he would be starting to try the patience of management

Yeah and Popli was a seventh round draft pick (the 43rd-49th picks) on CW, so to now be in the conversation for international squads is a great move. The Nav Man was also pretty good. Gave the other seamers a headstart of two rounds, missed a round for exams I think, still cracked the top 10 wicket-takers in his first season.

It wasn't a total blow out for Leopard. I am keeping the faith.

The Nav Man on actuarial science at .37 seconds in. A very smart guy.

Navin is a Residential Advisor at Boulcott Hall. He also plays professional cricket for the Central Districts Stags Cricket Team and represents New Zealand as a member of the Premier Men’s Indoor Cricket Team.

As recognition of his hard work, Navin was awarded the 2015 Actuarial Scholarship from Cigna Life Insurance, which grants $5,000 towards his studies and an opportunity for work over summer.

Looking to the future, the English-born sportsman has his eyes on multiple prizes. “I plan to hopefully intern at a finance company which would give me a great foundation to become an Actuary or Investment Banker. I also hope to extend my professional cricket career and continue to represent New Zealand.”

I don't get the Leopard reference at all? He didn't play a game.

I'm assuming this is based on the 1 televised u19 game? In which he looked agricultural but actually still top scored IIRC.

Although it's not actually his first season. I still have Popli in the 'first season' group. Plus he is only doing it (only selected in) the one format.

It's definitely been a big take notice season. But until he carries this form into either a second season, or onto an A tour, then i wouldn't expect him to be in international contention.

It was also a big season, across formats, for Ish Sodhi. Which he then carried on at international level upon his recall.

And before Dan pipes in with a season full of jammy long hops etc etc . One mediocre haul does not a season make.

His RPO was still a very expensive 4 during plunket though, keep in mind if test recall drum beats get loud.

Astle's season just sort of drifted after his int t20 selection and dropping. Up until then I was wondering if he might start breaking season records.

Biggest disappointment of the season; the Autumn green tops in the last 3 rounds. Pathetic.

Perhaps connected to Astle's late season whimper.

I think his batting position alone spoke volumes about his potential. He will be an FC number 8 batsman in his initial years if he gets selected. He will never be a batsman at the rate he is going unless a stern coach gets a hold of him and gives him a clip around the ears.

4) Ben Smith
5) Mark Chapman
6) Lachie Ferguson. Career before season was useful, 28 wickets @ 30. This season 31 wickets @ 22, 3 x 5-wicket bags, best seam bowler I saw on EPOO alongside Mitch McC (from a small sample of games).

Not so sure about Chapman, a couple of good performances is not the same as a breakthrough.

Disappointments of the domestic FC season:

1) Joe Carter. Started the season with 1084 FC runs avge 33, this season averaged 11 in 6 FC games and lost his spot.
2) Dean Brownlie. 326 runs @ 25. Perhaps ND should have stuck with Brad Wilson?
3) Matt McEwan. 3 early season games for 8 wickets. Upwards career trajectory stalled.
4/ Michael Bracewell. 397 runs @ 24, not enough for a NZ A player and probably overtaken by Smith / Popli / McClure.

And two final awards:

The Brent Arnel Award for the bowling coach who also tops his province's FC wicket tally, for the 2nd year running goes to 37 year old Brent Arnel.

The Andrew Ellis Award for "how easy is this Plunket Shield stuff", for the 3rd year running goes to 34 year old Andrew Ellis for 518 runs @ 37 and 33 wickets @ 18 (previous seasons 853 runs @ 53 and 29 wickets @ 29, 470 runs @ 47 and 21 wickets @ 29).
