Is every one kinda getting now why Devcich is so disliked by everyone who's ever had to share a field with him?

Tbf, the shot was clearly on in the video. He judged correctly, he just missed it that's all.

Give the poor man a break.

Will Young? Does he have to wait for Taylor to retire?

Unfortunately I think Nicholls will go to Sth Africa, make a couple of streaky 40s and keep the #5 spot until end of next summer.

I think that should be a 'take notice' hundred by Blundell.

A bowling attack of Nuttall, Bennett, Jamieson, Astle, Ellis is very strong by plunket standards. If NZA put out that attack I wouldn't complain (except about Ellis due to age and kink).

In fact that attack gives a good all round test of a batsman.
Left arm pace and swing.
Right arm pace and swing.
Height and bounce.
Wrist spin.
Accurate 5th bowler (seam &'heavy ball')

Just missing a right armer who naturally takes it away from a RHB (eg Henry)

I'm always a bit sceptical of domestic batsmen who score a large percentage of runs with classic square cuts. If there's one sort of delivery you're far more likely to get in domestic cricket than international cricket, it's the short and wide pie.

Watching those highlights, Blundell's set up has changed a bit from when I was in Wellington. Looks like he's definitely taken a bit of the Jamie Siddons backlift on; he used to tap the bat down a lot more, and pick it up again as the bowler got into his delivery stride. Now, he's starting with his bat up, and his hands a lot higher and also wider than they used to be. He tended to move his feet more than the typical NZ batsman too, but from the highlights, it looks like now he's not really trying to get far forward - it's a bit hard to tell in that clip though, because there's a lot of short/back of a length bowling in there. Was always very quick on the pull shot, too.

Heh @ the Otago second innings. Some Faf du Plessis level stonewalling. 172/3 from 95 overs. Wilson 62 off 275 deliveries & Kitchen 39 off 191. Then Neesham comes in and hits 27 off 26 before the declaration.

Pleased that the weather cleared to allow Canterbury to complete their victory at the Basin Reserve. A nice way for Fulton to bow out, if that is the case.
