Well, I for one, can't wait to see a limping Wayne Rooney starting the Euros, this dynamism and winning matches against quality opponents is just wrong, we need more plodding, this is what England are about nowadays. A nice plod around the field, Rooney will be perfect for it. I'm not giving up hope that Lampard/Gerrard can be late call-ups too, that partnership has got to work one day, Roy can spring the surprise by dropping Dier and Alli from the squad and bring them both back whilst genuflecting at their godliness.

It'll happen, wait and see.

Well he's confirmed Rooney will go the tournament but I actually think he may leave him on the bench. I'd probably take him, though I'm struggling to justify why if am honest. Kane/Vardy, Sturridge then Rooney or Wellbeck is the pecking order for me now.

I'm not actually slagging off Roy too much, It's more how we as a sporting nation just go conservative so ****ing often.

Hodgson has pretty much picked the sides I want against France and Germany, would have probably had Barkley ahead of Lallana last night, and Noble is 230 miles ahead of Drinkwater (without Kante he'd be nowt), but your never going to agree on everything, just fear when the first match kicks-off it'll be a groan from me when I see the team-sheet.

Agree with that, think Noble has been unlucky over the years not to get a call up and we will groan when we see the starting line up at the euros.

What starting lineup are you guys expecting to see ffs?

Stones has to come in for Cahill if he's fit, Cahill's laughably bad.

Cahill will start ahead of Stones, Rooney will return and Sterling will probably start even though they both have a race against time to be fit.

Baines probably back too.

Forgot Jack will be back too probably.

I'd rather see a fully fit Jack in the side ahead of Henderson or Alli. At least against the not so good sides.

He'll probably be starting well off the pace though, which is the problem.

Not denying i'd rather have him instead of Henderson but there is no way he will be anywhere near fit enough after so long out. Wouldn't have him in the squad unless he comes back and plays 5 or 6 games for Arsenal which is unlikely.

Cab, would you pick Wilshere if he is declared fit but hasn't played a game for Arsenal all year? I wouldn't. Spurs should have 5 in the 23 man squad, the most out of all clubs. Actually, I guess Liverpool might get 5 too.

No, I wouldn't. I think he has to be fit in the next 2-3 weeks and at least start a couple of games for Arsenal in May.

Also, it probably wouldn't be great for him personally to go straight into a highly competitive tournament having not played for a year.

I like Stones as a prospect but he's being justifiably kept out of the Everton side by Funes Mori and Phil Jagielka. As it stands he's unfortunately total shite at defending and ideally wouldn't make the squad, especially since Roy has that thing about playing CBs at RB. But options are so limited that he'll end up going anyway.

Also if Wilshere plays ahead of Delle Alli Hodgson should be fired on the spot, although I'd be open to him replacing Henderson depending on how they finish the season. The big decision is dropping Rooney and I'll be really surprised if it happens. Shame because Kane and Vardy are both fit and hard working enough to make two strikers work and it'd be so good to watch.

Piers Morgan talking cot **** again. Claiming we've offered Arsene a 3 year extension. **** off.

This is madness IMO. I genuinely didn't realise there were people who still rated Wilshere, especially ahead of Alli and to a slightly lesser degree Henderson, even if hypothetically fully fit.

Two years ago I'd have been with you RE Henderson V Wilshere. But the former hasn't kicked on and Wilshere won me over a bit more, especially in an England shirt

Madness RE Alli though

Wilshere has barely played in the last two years though.

Granted I'm not Henderson's biggest fan either, but Wilshere is really really average and Henderson 13/14 was genuinely good and thus it's better than anything Wilshere has ever done by a looooong way.

EDIT: To expand, yeah Henderson hasn't been as good as he was in 13/14 since but even his comparatively underwhelming 14/15 and 15/16 are better seasons than Wilshere has had. And I haven't been won over by Wilshere in that time as he has played a handful of games and when he has played has been as average as ever. He's not a bad player but he's not a top four player by any means and is a weak link whenever he plays at Arsenal.

Alli should start ahead of Barkley. Hope he does, not sure Woy will be brave enough to pick him. Trouble is I think Rooney will get that place and that would be a mistake.

As for Wilshere he shouldn't be in the squad but might yet make it. I don't rate Henderson full stop so have no idea why he is in the side.

Jack had a few great games for England in that time which is mainly what I was thinking of. Agree with your overall sentiment anyhow.
