*Official* English Football Season 2015-16

International Coach
This argument gets brought up about Guardiola all the time and it's complete crap. He took a team that finished 3rd the season before, absolutely miles off the pace, sold Ronaldinho and Deco, added a right back and a 21 year old centre half that had barely kicked a ball at Man Utd and within a season turned them into one of the greatest sides football's ever seen.

Barcelona were also a shambles for 2 years after Pep left until Enrique took charge.
I'm not doubting he wasn't a very good influence on the side, what I'm getting at is those who argue he creates great teams from stratch, somehow magicking something from nothing. The team might have had a poor season the year before (the year before that they'd missed out on the title on head to head results), but it was still a squad with Valdes, Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Henry and Eto'o (i'll leave Toure out as it was his first season). It just needed decent management, not an overhaul, as shown by the few signings - and if you think Pique was some Utd reserve with no game time then you're a fool, he was highly rated at Utd and was playing, problem was we had Vidic and Ferdinand, and Ferguson had a blind desire to give Evans the chance to come through too, so he let Pique leave rather than have his career stalling through lack of gametime (also he was in the last year of his contract, not a big issue for someone his age, but still not perfect - look at how we ***ed up with Pogba). Everyone knew Pique was going to be class, just Ferguson somehow thought Evans could be too...

Also, by shambles, do you mean the next season they hit 100 points and broke their record for goals in a league season?

I hate it when sub come off the bench and have a good game and idiot commentators hit out with 'he should have started.'

No-one ever argues he builds teams from scratch. Guardiola takes good teams and players and makes them great. Which is why he'd have been a great fit for Arsenal, dynasties simply don't happen in the modern game.

Especially when he says it over and over again.
You would never have guessed that Hargreaves basically grew up footballing wise in Germany, some of the nonsense he hits out with is your stereotypical backwards British nonsense of the worst kind.

Man U was fairly modern

You're probably right mind you. Was thinking this earlier when I was driving listening to the first half of barse

United's dynasty started in 1986.

Ferguson at Man Utd and Wenger at Arsenal are anachronisms. There's literally no-one else at any major club in Europe who's been in their post for longer than 3-4 years.

Has there ever been a more clutch player than Thomas Muller? The guy is as quintessentially German as they come.

Really quite annoyed that Bayern got through. I hope they draw Atletico and get hacked out of the tournament.
