Yeah if Reiffel held the catch the previous over SA are all out and lose by 15 runs. Or even if Lehmann hits the stumps the previous ball, it's a less absurd run out and just a standard mixup with some sharp fielding. So many ways it could have gone, but it definitely went the funniest way.

coming from a club cricketer who pulls this regularly nothing beats a cheeky block to your own feet and mad dash, never do they expect it

I hate how Donald seems to get all the blame for that. I still maintain Klusener * was the main culprit. He went off on a mad dash without even waiting for the ball to cross the length of the pitch. Poor Donald had to stay in because the ball could've deflected off the bowlers hand and onto the non striker stumps. Not to mention he was already a bit wary of running since he'd barely escaped a runout the previous ball when backing up too far.

*autocorrects to Kleenex. Heh.
This, so much

2007 is still the funniest mental collapse from a team. Utterly brilliant mind games in the media prior, and just a hilariously inept batting display.

Not as funny as SA vs the BCs in the 2011 CWC quarterfinal. We had absolutely no right to defend that score.

Warner has taken a big swipe at the NZ cricket team calling them weak , their bowlers were lame and the batsmen sooks. Good on the aussies we need more matches that are worth watching and teams wanting to win and not just earn a bucketful of money.

Australia won't tone down aggression
"Back in the day you used to see these battles with the fast bowlers, the batter would play and miss and the bowler would say something. These days it's taken the spark out of it a little bit - I love getting into a contest with the bowler, if he gets you out he gets the last laugh, but if you get on top of him then you can. But in the end it's what the ICC has put in place and we need to respect that." Ironically given New Zealand's adoption of a higher road under the captaincy of Brendon McCullum, crowds across the Tasman subjected many of Australia's players to repeated personal abuse. Warner said several times spectators were asked to leave for expressing sentiments he described as "vulgar".
