Positives: Showed good application. Was playing a really good knock in the first innings here, though got out in an awful way.
Negatives: A bit block-bash. Probably not yet up to it as a test match number 6. Bowling a bit innocuous.
Rating: 5/10
Certainly is that, though managed to achieve reasonable results playing two innings of Block and one innings of Bash, where I thought neither of those approaches from him would have legs against this attack. Is still generally better to go for Bash imho.

A mild headache whenever our next series is, as I assumed Santner would come back for him at 6 but Anderson's probably done enough to retain that spot.

Australians: "Australia is the best of all time and can't be touched and we always knew (despite our doubts that we posted before this series) that we'd win easily, NZ just suck"

There's nothing wrong with either quote ftr.

Largely agree re. Bash, and it certainly worked well in the first innings. What had been most impressive was that he was actually quite selective with which balls to bash - until the one that got him out, when he carried through to a ball that just wasn't there for it.

I think as has been mentioned a few times in this thread it will likely be Santner in for one of the seamers playing the Moeen Ali type role.

We're missing a trick by not encouraging Pacific island and Maori kids to play cricket. Faced an island kid in the nets in the other day who had never played cricket before in his life, he was without a doubt the quickest bowler I had ever faced.. Had me struggling lol

Blocky - Top effort from the lad, well played. Some previous focus of hate and bile ignored, probably assisted to some extent by a timely injury to Ross Taylor providing less scope for racial slurs. Still managed to include a number of his long-term bugbears though with, in his terms, a minimum of repetition and scant repetition. A-
