...Do you see him [Kuggeleijn] ever playing for NZ? I find it hard to. Maybe limited overs though I could see his bowling getting smacked around there....
Kuggs could have a test role as #8 / aggressive 4th seamer if Santner settles in at #6. Southee / Boult / Henry as opening swing bowlers, Wags / Braces etc as 3rd seamer to do stock role, Kuggs to bowl 10-15 overs a day, 140+, bouncers. But so could Milne ...

Kuggs should be more injury resistant and bowls a heavier ball

Yeah I wonder what Milne's speeds are actually like when the ball's into the twentieth yard of flight. I guess it's that pushy-outy move with Milne's wrist and arm working at cross purposes that makes a Milne ball such a light ball.

CW's Ponty to confirm. Ian Pont.

Amateur Analysis: I think he doesn't impart as much back spin on the ball as other fast bowlers with their wrist flick, which means the ball doesn't kick up despite his height and speed and also means the seam wobbles a little more meaning he never gets movement off the wicket nor in the air. Although he used to swing it prodigiously when he first got on the scene.

Big fan of Jack Hunter and he looks to be doing plenty of damage too.
Hunter with nice height and more consistent swing than Duffy this morning. Looks good on the Patumahoe clay, so I might get Edgar onto a new poaching trail.

nah

if we bring in the duke ball we get the issue county cricket has, which is dibbly dobblies becoming fearsome strike bowlers.

in other words everyone would stack the batting by picking six batsmen, a keeper and four allrounders.

it's a band aid over the reasons we have Munro's Law. the bowlers just have to get better.

all for dukes at test level though.

Looking at Firebirds bowling lineup we need a whole new lineup.

Nice to see Ken McClure get 96 on return from injury. Sodhi (who should probably be at Hagley Oval) getting him, Bowes & Ellis.
