I meant that maybe him sucking here so much was at least partially because he tends to suck if he has to come in early; not that they dropped him because they thought the top order was more likely to suck. But there might be something to that too.

And yeah I'd go with exactly this too. Harsh on Rahane who hasn't been allowed to settle in a role and has been getting slowly better at ODIs regardless, but he just doesn't fit at the moment.

I would honestly look at Yuvraj for the ODI line up in the short term at least, given that he could conceivably keep himself fit for the next WC. Its obvious how much balance the current T20 side has and how much Dhoni loves it. We need to start looking at blokes like Irfan and Binny once again, given the WC will be in England. In an ideal world, the ODI side will resemble the T20 side in terms of balance. Guys who can bat till 9 and guys who can bowl from 4 (except the keeper). In fact, I will even say we should bat Dhoni at 4 and thus have guys who can contribute with the ball from 5 to 11...
