Yeah, I guess the fairytale for me is the fact that they're a good team. I just kind of assumed that was the same for everyone.

One imagines his career is over. Surely nobody will touch him with a barge pole after this. He's even more toxic than Ched Evans.

I don't bet often but I just saw Leicester at 19-5 on Sunday. Can probably get better odds elsewhere.

I mean if push comes to shove I probably reckon it will be a draw but they are seriously good odds. Had to get on them.

Yeah the odds seem mad to me. Arsenal (one win in five) odds on to beat Leicester (two losses all season). Though I honestly have no idea what will happen. On the one hand Arsenal aren't in great form, but they've managed to win most of their biggest games this season.

As an aside, apparently Leicester have only been the bookies favourite in four of their league games. What a ridiculous season.

I think the point more is that it's not akin to, say, a Championship club going on a run to the FA Cup final and taking down a few giants along the way. Which is the usual 'fairytale' in football, I guess?

Anyhow, for me the more interesting points were about the dismissiveness we are still seeing in some parts, i.e. it being evidence of the Prem being crap and how they'll get swatted aside in Europe (like the current big sides). It's just unthinkable to so many entrenched in the 1992 is year zero mindset that someone could break the behemoths' monotonous monopoly, by simply having the audacity to be a better football team.
This is fair. If Leicester win it, they will have deserved it. My objections are also based on projections I can't prove. They could end up doing better than expected. Who knows, really.

I want to say football has evolved since 92, but I guess in 92 you could have said the same, when talking about what happened with Forrest.

I just wrote a reply and I lost it, looks like you've edited since then anyhow

Well the game should evolve shouldn't it? I know I like an AgainstModernFootball whinge, half the time tongue is in cheek and others it's things I find truly to be ripping the game inside out. But I never thought we'd see anything like this happen, whether they win it or not. With the new TV deal, who knows, maybe the monopoly at the top will be challenged more, great in theory but then you remember the TV deal is for the 20 in the prem at that point and could well reopen that gap that used to exist between prem and championship...

Don't know how I managed to lead myself down a path of doom but Nevermind

Didn't really have any other option tbh. Would have been a spectacular PR suicide if they had done anything else.
Assuming that the transcripts of his text messages are real, the guy is the lowest form

Guy should be sent down for a long time for preying on a minor let alone playing professional football again

That's a pen all day long, if only for the wussiness of not wanting the ball to ruin his weave.
