Is Dhoni greatest OdI cricketer off all-time

Williamson is miles behind as things stand. Not even in the same galaxy as AB and Kohli. Yeah Starc could well do it, but he will likely be 'managed' during a lot of bilateral ODI series which will hurt his bulk stats.

He isn't anywhere near Kohli yet. Kohli clearly will always have bulk stats that are better but leaving that aside he is legitimately in the top 10 ODI batsmen ever already because of his chasing ability + hundreds. Williamson not in that conversation.

Virat is way ahead of Amla imo. Michael Vaughan definitely underachieved in ODIs

Yeah. Dunno whether I'd be able to fit KW in the top 25 atm

I agree with that. Williamson is also a world-class fielder and very useful part time bowler. Kohli is okay in the field and hardly ever bowls for one of the worst odi bowling sides

Well he hasn't played 100 ODIs yet. He just got his first duck in 3 years which didn't help

I don't rate my top 25 OD players according to their averages

Kohli is a really good fielder. Very bizarre critique.

I would pick a bowler as the greatest ODI player of all time. Seems like a rarer and hence more valuable quantity. Maybe one out of McGrath, Garner or Murali.

You're talking about picking a bowler as the greatest ODI player and you're talking about mortals instead of God? :p

Williamson will be right up there by the time he's done, guy's a run machine. It's pretty much as close as you can get to a certainty.

This thread is asking for greatest "cricketer" tho not just "batsman". With dhoni, you will get ATG finisher, brilliant captain (overall career) and excellent keeper.. Not sure if any other player brings that much to the table

In OdI he ain't no AB or Kohli. Agree in test. Guptil deserves a mention. Guy has been gun recently

The reason why I don't rate Amla high is due to his failure when heat is on. Aside from WC, he even fails in bilaterals when chasing a semi- decent score
