Oh god I'd forgotten about Dhoni promoting himself ahead of youngsters who need developing and then promptly getting a blob and throwing a load more pressure on them.

Wasn't long back when Kohli had never made a ton in a failed chase. I think that streak was broken in the first game against NZ in 2014. This is probably only the 3rd instance when he has made a century and India have lost (twice in this series alone).

I didn't see that game but kept following it on Cricinfo.

Can anyone tell me WHAT THE **** Umesh Yadav was doing? Was he trying to lose the game on purpose? He couldn't score a run in the whole over and then waits till the last ball to take a single? I still think this match could have been won if Jadeja had decent support.

I'm not going to get started on Dhoni, Gurkeerat and Rishi Dhawan who simply had to score a run a ball to win. I won't blame Rahane, because he apparently had to get stitches for his hand?

Also, I think MS Dhoni just signed his resignation letter. This will probably be his last ODI series.

Is that decreasing to a minimum and then increasing? Cause I don't understand it otherwise..

I was going to suggest that Rishi should be further up the order because the RRR didn't justify his wild swing at the time, but it's hard to argue those above him on that list weren't actually worse in their dismissals. It's amazing when such a brain-dead innings was only the 8th pure crappest thing in the innings, but it's quite arguably true.

I'm just shocked Dhoni promoted himself. Let the youngsters try to finish it off, with the knowledge that their legendary finisher is still to come in behind them (which would reduce the pressure considerably).

Bhuvi's innings was worse than Yadav's imo. Yadav was at least swinging wildly when the RRR was >10. Bhuvi was looking to just edge every ball to keeper/slip when the RRR was 8. My ranking will be (in terms of crapness of dismissal and last few deliveries before dismissal)

1. Dhoni
2. Bhuvi
3. Yadav
4. Jadeja
5. Mann
6. Rishi Dhawan
7. Shikhar Dhawan
8. Kohli
9. Rahane
10. Ishant
11. Rohit

I sort of understand Rahane's situation. With the injury he was completely incapable of playing any shot that needs strong grip. So he looked to just guide it past slip.

The selection has been so dire too. (Pandey+Ashwin)>>>>>>(Mann+Rishi)....

If Manish is not playing because he can't bowl then use a batsman like Raina or Yuvraj who can bowl a couple of overs as 6th bowler. I'm not against giving chances to youngsters like Gurkeerat but a loopy spin bowler like him should have his first chance in spin-friendly conditions back home and not on Australian roads....If the 6th bowler has to be a spin-bowler then Raina or Yuvraj are the persons to go
