***Official*** Pakistan in New Zealand - T20/ODI series - Jan 2016

it's weird but I'm not sure winning by 10 wickets is good for us in the long run because our middle order is in dire need of time in the middle

And a professional and disciplined performance it was. Series 1-1 now with a destructive 10 wicket win. New Zealand woke up but seems like Pakistan stayed awake for too long. Should have continued the work behind the scenes but New Zealand definitely did theirs it in this game. The decider should be very very intriguing if both teams show up to the party.

My New Zealand 15 man squad for the t20 World cup.

1. Guptill
2. Williamson
3. Munro
4. Taylor
5. Elliott
6. Worker
7. Ronchi
8. Santner
9. Bracewell
10. Milne
11. Henry

Boult, anderson, Sodhi and Mclenaghan as cover.

Ronchi is only there because no able wicket-keeping/batting replacement in the middle order. Latham's inclusion will only disrupt a top order going so good at the moment. Watling could come in but I really don't know much about his L/O game. If someone can fill me in on it then let me know.

His pace is fine and ripping through hapless domestic batsmen isn't going to help him.
nah he was gun last game, this can happen in t20.

And anyway, it's t20. Who cares?
Yeah I know and I am fully confident he will come back. Guess I really wanted him to take out KW. KW vs Amir is going to be such an excellent contest of our times, a bit like Crowe vs Akram and I'm just hurting with the first round going to KW that's all

Reckon Amir will trouble Steve Smith.

lol yeah.

Just thinking specifically about Smith's technique though. Boult should've been the one to get him in Aus but he was out of sorts and bowling rubbish.

I assume Amir will play in the ODIs? Will be interesting to see him bowl 10 overs. He looked tight enough to me that you'd think he could really pin a batsman down in a longer format. Gets late swing too.

Great win for NZ though with the middle order not being needed it didn't necessarily serve the purpose for the selectors. Good nevertheless to see the bowlers largely adapt and the openers asserting themselves. Sets things up nicely for the decider at Wellington.

That probably does it for Todd Astle's selection chances, though it might not be a bad thing if he comes into focus for the longer formats. Would have Sodhi back and leave the T20 quick bowling duties to Mitch/Milne/Henry alone.
