It's not going to happen fellas. He needs a 172* in the next inning/test or 272 out once or 372 out twice. The odds are highly against him ever averaging 100.
Something like 110* and then 62* is quite possible in the next test

Van zyl being poor cannot be an argument defending the quotas. Quota of four black players per XI is not right. It screws up with team balance often and less deserving players get to play.

Duminy's been more useful as a bowler than a batsman for several years now IMO

judging purely on a batting average of 32 is a bit unfair

Yeah but when he then doesn't bowl his place in the side becomes ridiculous as he isn't a good enough bat.

If he had bowled 20+ overs in the match you might let him off but Root bowled more.

Out at 50-80 is most likely.
Its Sydney, and last time I heard a knowledgeable Aussie talk about it they said the spin had subsided and it is just as much a road as the rest of the pitches. 172* definitely on the cards. The only thing against him is coming in at number 5.

By the way this series is giving David Warner bad habits. He has become contemptuous of the attack and can't be bothered defending the good ones, with any luck he will go off the boil.

I think that is the point. IF JP is the fifth bowler in the side then you can overlook his ineptitude with the bat to an extent. When he doesn't, and is in the side as a batsman, that;'s just not good enough.

There's some extenuating circumstances for SvZ's failures - he is clearly not an opener and he has atleast scored a ton this year.

If there have been many unnaturally high scores, by the evening out aspect, the lower scores will come sooner rather than later.

Implying Voges' average is not a completely apt representation of his ability.

So many haters
