Jonbrooks chucking Megathread

It's pretty funny that they go to so much effort and spend so much money on the testing process which is completely pointless unless they actually test during match conditions.

.
Seriously pull your head in mate cos your last two posts are just sheer embarrassing.

I'm quite sure the ICC testing process has more relevance to it than your protractor on a PC screen to a two dimensional image FFS.

not sure if srs

You think testing someone bowling in a lab is even close to a conclusive representation of the legality of someones matchplay bowling action?

broken sarcasm detector as well obviously. lol @ thinking "protractor to screen" was serious

you are "sheer embarrassing" (doesn't make sense btw) If you're from England at least learn to speak English ffs

What's your solution jedibrah?
ideally, in match testing. If not ball-by-ball then at least random balls during an innings. Anything else is pretty much a complete waste of time.

ICC won't even do this for front-foot no balls so . . . plus the technology do monitor bowling actions/chucking in game is probably way far off so ****ed if I know what to do I'm just here to complain about it

with the recent stance and testing, ****s are being banned left right center which is a hell lot more than what was happening pre-chuckmal. don't you think that's better than a 'complete waste of time?'

yeah good point

was mostly just lol'ing at the ICCs assurance of the virility of their testing process

If someone is found chucking in testing, fair bet they chuck in game. But you can't say the same vice versa. So basically you can prove someone guilty, but impossible to rigorously prove someone innocent at this stage

Love the naked accusation of Harbhajan.

I'd ban spinners from bowling in long sleeves, what exactly are they trying to hide?

Thought about trying to do my Master's thesis on a method of detecting throwing during games, by using multiple cameras to construct a 3D model from a set of 2D videos. Unfortunately, that's ****ing hard work, and way too much for a one year course.

So it appears Samuels has been banned for chucking, again:

West Indies' Marlon Samuels banned from bowling for 12 months | Sport | The Guardian

So I did a bit of googling and found this very interesting article:

The cost of one?s action: When Mohnish Parmar?s innocent idol-worship backfired | The Indian Express

This makes for some very sad reading. :-( The coaches should really have stopped Parmar early in his career rather than let things get as far as they did. One thing for sure is he must be considering himself very unlucky given others have gotten away with a lot worse at the very top level.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah coz in this day n age a FC cricketer will not be privy to the knowledge that Murali's action was a result of a freak genetic occurrence and cannot be replicated. That is just a guy trying to spin a sad story to get by after his cricket career fizzled out. I feel sorry that someone imitated Murali's action so much but come on, are you seriously saying as a FC cricketer in India, he would not have known that it was impossible to copy his action and still bowl clean?

His elbow condition makes it impossible for him to straighten his arm. And the bowling law only states you can't bend a straight arm while into the bowling action OR straighten a bent arm into the bowling action. So its obvious he is the only one who can bowl in that style and still be ok within the laws. Others will end up straightening their arm if trying the same action. Looks like you and Parmar were the only two in the cricketing world unaware of the fact.

Hahahahaha this is amazing. All the rants on Murali's action and you aren't even aware that he can't physically straighten his arm (his elbow was ****ed up as a kid) and has amazingly flexible wrists and shoulders.
