Well most Chelsea fans still love Mourinho anyway so you are talking out your arse.

put aside the fact it is Chelsea and Mourinho, as far as the fans are concerned the greatest manager in the clubs history has been stabbed in the back by his players. Don't forget that this is the manager who took them to 60% of the league titles they have won in their entire history. I think the fans are allowed to have their say a couple of days after their favourite has been sacked.

Feel dirty for defending Chelsea fans so off for a shower.
Heh, stabbed in the back. Right out of the Mourinho phrasebook of amateur dramatics. He's been treating literally everyone at the club like absolute **** for four months. Turns out that's not the way to get employees to work effectively. Mourinho has no one to blame but himself, and so obviously will blame everyone but himself.

Nevertheless I hope we fire LVG tomorrow and hire him immediately.

Why do people give a **** about Carneiro? She was the ****ing physio, a nobody. IMO people blow that up way too much.
I thought this at first but the more you read around it the more significant it appears. Firstly because there's been so much noise being leaked directly from the dressing room that suggests it was a big deal. But also, players often have very close relationships with physios, firstly because the physical stress of being a footballer means you spend enormous amounts of time with them, but also because the confidentiality aspect of the role means they can open up to them. So you get, for example, Steven Gerrard saying in his autobiography that the physio was his best friend at Liverpool by far. Whereas this "the ****ing physio, a nobody" line, literally no one with experience in a football team is expressing that sentiment.

Agree totally with Uppercut ,Mourinho has behaved appallingly, blaming everyone but himself from the start of the season.

Oh and of course the physio thing is a big deal, he disregarded the players safety, and then decided to humiliate a popular employee, just to mask a defeat.

. Utterly twattish behaviour in any which way you sensibly look at it.

Yeah if the players weren't prepared to play for Mourinho it's probably him at fault rather than everyone else. Turns out being a dick only works for so long.

Also, the players can't really win from here. If they perform well people will say they weren't trying for Mourinho, if they do badly then people will say they're just rubbish and it wasn't Mourinho's fault.

Mourinho's genius at work. Somehow turned acting like a bellend for 6 months and taking last season's Champions into relegation trouble as being not his fault.

Oh well that is nice, important point in your relegation battle. Good you have decided to give up on all those cups at the earliest possible time, just so you are enumcumbered by any other ambition then securing mid-table security.

Yep.

Chelsea fans are an amazing bunch though, two people they love unconditionally, Mourinho and John Terry. Quite remarkable.

If you'd keep working as hard as ever if your boss treated a colleague the way Mourinho treated Carneiro, then you've lost my respect. If not, lay off the Chelsea players.
Big difference between not going the extra mile for a **** and not even turning up. I just hate the unprofessionalism of it. You could still put in a shift and leak a ton to media friends if you hate the manager.

Good to see some nice attacking play at OT today. Shame it came from green and yellow shirts. According to comms United is 1st in passes in your own half and backwards. Do it well if your going to do it I guess.

It's the modern game isn't it, focus on the league. We're well poised for our assault on 9th place now tbh

****ing hell, Colchester have been ****e lately.

Mind you - could be worse, could have lost to GIMH's pick for relegation - Braintree.

I'm not saying no one gets close to the physio. Even a Sunday league player knows the physio is important, but they're fairly replaceable cogs in the grand scheme of things. Players get close to each other, the manager, the assistants, and any one of them moving on or not getting proper dues/chances (it happens a lot) does not cause this kind of collapse. Why should it for a physio of all people?

I'm not saying they weren't upset, but it's ludicrous to me to suggest that it was the root cause for this fall. I think it's straightforward, honestly. The psychology of a sports person is what sets them apart from the others, that 1% extra makes a difference. And when you lose, and continue to lose, that's it. That winning mentality has gone. And I think Mourinho not having had this kind of problem before reacted badly in that his siege mentality tactic has become tiring and it's even worse when you eventually start turning on your players.

The Carneiro thing was a side-show. She had gotten some kind of notoriety because she was a decent looking physio. She should have never made it such a big deal, even if Mourinho was wrong to deflect on her.

This isn't a case of someone moving on/not getting dues, this is a vital member of the first team set up being turned into a public scapegoat by the manager, basically being forced out of their job just for doing what they are paid to do. Its a bit more destabalising than someone leaving because they feel underappreciated.

Also, by hanging the physio out to dry, Mourinho has basically said that he see's the fitness of the players as secondary to his ego. To say someone shouldn't be getting treatment when they are down injured because he sees it as an issue won't have pleased the players at all.

You put that into another situation, and imagine being told by your manager that your health and safety at work is unimportant, and anyone who tries to keep you safe and healthy will be demoted, even if that's their job... Would you have much faith in your boss at that point, or would you slack a bit, knowing he'd be blamed/sacked for the slip in performance?

Tbh, it's not uncommon for managers to blow up at a physio for running on at certain times. The difference is they do it behind closed doors and then all move on.
